I like a poll to see where people stand. There are other threads for the manager discussion but I have got the OK from the mods to ask the simple discussion on how long you think Jose should get.

I'm in the Until the end of the season camp. I would love for Jose to turn it around, I want him to succeed because he is the Tottenham Hotspur manager. However, if results don't improve then I doubt he will stay or want to. I don't think Levy has the stomach for the level of squad overhaul we actually need.

Personally I'm happy for him to be here until Summer as long as he doesn't resort back to Winks, Sissoko, Dier etc. and then part ways. No point of getting rid of him sooner unless someone suddenly pops up who is too good not to pursue.

So my answer would be keep him until the end of the season and then get rid.

Went for end of the season - but I think 'turning it around' would have to constitute better squad harmony and better style of play as well as just results.

I fall in between two of the options - I think his service should be retained beyond the summer and, if backed by the board, to start the season. If, after that, he's unable to solve our problems and we find ourselves struggling, then we should consider his position. Given that, I went for option three.

End of the season for me but he needs to get at least top 4 and the team needs to be happy and pulling in the same direction.

That said I don't think he is the man to take us forward but I'm ready to change my mind if I see tangible progress.

Given your opinion I would say option 3 is the right one.

I'm open to him staying for next season. This is reliant on 2 things.
1. Harry & Sonny want him and will stay.
2. He is backed fully by levy in offloading ALL the deadwood and rejuvenating the squad.
I am at this conclusion despite hating his style of football, however I simply don't have the will to see another manager trying and eventually failing to find something out of davies, dier, sissoko, winks, etc. And to an extent dele, and one or two more. I believe a squad clear out is now absolutely required.

I'm somewhere in between option 1 and 2. It feels kind of pointless to sack him now, but even if he would end the season well (let's say we get top 4 and maybe even win the final against City), I'm still not 100% sure if he's the right man long term wise.

Same. I think we should assess things after he's actually had a normal preseason.

Until the end of the season for me but I really believe if fans were in the stadium for matches he would have been gone by now.

He should get until the end of the season. But you need to define what turns it round means. For me that means:
  1. He clearly has the support of the majority of the squad.
  2. He also has the support of Levy.
  3. Qualifies for the CL i.e. top 4 finish.
  4. Plays better football than the crap he has served up for the last 18 months.

How will the upcoming preseason with the multiple tournaments be considered more normal than the preseason he had this season?

It's for you to define, not me.

If by your standards the job he does until the end of the season doesn't justify him staying then your view is option 2.

First option would be me usual.

But I went with the safe one in option 2, IF he gets top4 and that's a must.

Personally I want him gone because I want to be exicted watching us play again and that's all that matters to me. The football is just i mean - awful as it has ever been, but sometimes you have to put our own ego aside.

If/when it becomes clear that we won't get top 4, the board has to decide if Jose is the man to lead us upwards given the realities of our team, in particular that we need a substantial rebuild. So it depends on an assessment of intangibles.

If we got top 4 and showed some signs of forging an identity and playing better football (yes, I know that's subjective) I'd be OK with giving him another season. If so, we should be thinking in terms of backing him in the TW and giving him the whole of next season for the 'new' signings to gel.
