Finish above the mighty Bouys :rofl::rofl: thats as likely as a new striker at the lane

I think fans who are "Celtic Minded" spell it Bhoys. As long as we give a good account of ourself, that will do me. As for finishing above Celtic its like you guys finishing above Man Ure or Chelski, could happen but in todays football cash is king. TV money has blown football apart and skewed it. It will never go back now that the geanie is out. Anyway, have you ever been to Tyncastle for a Celtic game? Bloody electric mate. Are you guys supremely confident? I hope so,it probably gives us the greatest chance of a leg victory. Cant wait, the jambos are hyped to the max. Its all Spurs chat on one of our main forums.

Welcome to the board. Nice to see other fans on here. All the best for the rest of the season.

PS: Don't suppose your mental Chairman wants to sign half a dozen useless gits for multi-million pounds does he? Dan Levy would love a call if so.

We have pissed away enough money on our own crap, thanks for the offer though. Its a sad day in football when 4th is seen better than winning a major trophy though.:duh: Our only chance I reckon is if you lot are under cooked and Arry isnt taking it seriously by putting out reserves.Even then looking at your 2nd team it would walk the SPL. I cant wait. Our biggest game since we played Bayern I reckon.Certainly in terms of hype.

:)

If you had to make me guess at our team for the match, taking into account both the fact that we've not played a match but that we've said we'll use youngsters in the match, I think we'll line up something like:

----------Friedel-----------
Walker-Kaboul-Dawson-Rose
------Jenas--Livermore----
-Townsend---------Kranjcar
-------Defoe-Crouch-------

Subs: Gomes, Corluka, Bassong, Lennon, Bale, Van der Vaart, Kane

Hence, if you do 'catch us cold' I would hope with a couple of substitutions we can soon 'warm up'.

Not a bad looking team. They may struggle with our long balls into the channels though.
A ball park, what would be that teams realistic market value? Its still a strong looking team. A tight one at Tyncastle and you guys to just scrape through at WHL.

Value is very hard but we paid around 48m for that starting XI and that contains four freebies. In terms of value, I'd (very, very roughly) say:

Friedel - naff all due to age
Walker - 8m
Kaboul - 8m
Daws - 15m
Rose - 6m
Townsend - 2m
Jenas - 7m
Livermore - 2m
Kranjcar - 7m
Defoe - 10m
Crouch - 10m
Total - 75m

That's totally arbitrary though and we simply wouldn't sell half of those so their 'value' is nigh on impossible/irrelevant.

Don't you mean that Crouch is worth 10 B&H and a packet of rizla?

I hope it is irrelevant. It's a smidgen more than our lot. Daws is not a name I'm familiar with, that's not saying much mind as I only see EPL via MoTD. I did like Kranjcar what I saw of him at PFC. Does he not get a regular start then? Yes that's not a bad looking team.

When Kranjcar is competing with Bale and Modric for a spot its hard for him to get a start. Having said that most fans think he is under used. A genuinely talented player, and in that team, along with Walker are probably the two biggest attacking threats. Defoe looked sharp against Athletic Biblao, and tends to do well against clubs of Hearts stature so it will be interesting to see how he preforms. Also I think we will be playing a weaker side the bill oddie is suggesting. I expect that Kane, and maybe even Carroll will feature at some point.

I do hope we turn up as a team.
In our recent cup matches where we've used the squad it looked like they'd never played with each other before.
Good luck with the season Hearts chappie.

I used to think of this type of tie as a gift.......

But then I remember a certain bunch of Young Boys roughly this time last year and realise when Spurs are concerned ANYTHING is possible.

Anyway, nice of the OP to stop by here and make the effort to post. Great tie for both teams and the atmosphere should be great. I've been to Edinburgh many, many times, fantastic city and I've had the pleasure of catching quite a few matches at Tynecastle so I know the match will be great!!

I have a feeling we'll get turned over at yours, but win reasonably comfortably at the Lane.

I also think we won't field nearly such a weak team as others are suggesting - throwing kids into a big European tie (and it is a big tie when it's England vs Scotland) and what will be an incredibly intimidating atmosphere would be a terrible decision, and I hope Harry has learned his lesson from the Arsenal league cup match last year when he selected a joke of a team.

I expect us to field a strong, experienced side, but just not risk our top stars like Modric, Bale and VDV (all on the bench though). Otherwise I think Harry will want to get the team playing together and use it as another opportunity to raise fitness levels.

Hearts are also way ahead of us match-fitness wise, especially with the Everton game off, and will be all over us when we've got possession.

I think, as I said, we'll field an experienced team, get turned over but a couple of goals (but probably score at least one ourselves), and then win the return leg fairly comfortably, as long as we can convert the chances I'm sure we'll create at the Lane. The return leg will be the place to blood some of the kids off the bench if we can get to a comfortable position.
