Hi Folks, Heart of Midlothian fan here just having a nose around your board. Looking forward to the games is an understatement. I know you guys are probably going to win but you never know, that's why we love the game. Tyncastle may be an eye opener if we catch you cold and you don't have the right attitude. I know It's a very long shot but I'm a crack head. Anyway probably won't post too much rather I just wanted to gauge what you guys made of the draw. I'f any are making the trip north you will have a great time being the festival etc. I have been to WHL 4 times when I lived in London years ago. The Shelf was where I was taken by some pals. So fond memories of the place. Anyway cheers and I hope we stuff you. ::wink:

Was delighted with the draw as its always more attractive to play a team you've heard of rather than 'FC Wosstheirname' from Latvia or 'Rapid Dunno-how-you-say-it-but-there's-a-z-in-there-somewhere' from Hungary.

Now the Tynecastle game is going to be our 1st game of the season I'm less happy as the Hearts players and fans will be well up for it and a few weeks ahead of us in terms of fitness. Could even be a Young Boys type scenario for us of you 'catching us cold' at Tynecastle as you put it and leaving us needing to win at the Lane.

Not making it up there but have been to Edinburgh during the festival before and it was awesome, so can only echo what you said about our travelling support having a great time.

Woudl echo Tommo84 - a good draw!

Very tough to say how it'll turn out because I have no idea what team we'll play, but should be a cracking atmosphere whatever happens

I was a tad disappointed with the draw, I want all home nations to do as well as possible so having us play a club from another home nation means even if we win we're knocking one of our own out. Other than that though I'm pretty pleased. I reckon Hearts would be tougher than some european teams but it'd probably be cheaper to fly to Poland on easyjet than take a train up to scotland! You could go to 3 games for the price of a return train fare

The only thing I want Hearts to do is finish above Rangers..... I cant stand rangers.

Unfortunately you have play us, as long as it is a good game it is all I am worried about. If we don't buy any strikers then I don't think you have much to worry about

Good luck in the SPL and beat those Ranger twits.

I can imagine us being caught cold at Tynecastle, as well us maybe not having the right attitude. What I can also see though is that whatever happens in the first leg, we'll finish the job at White Hart Lane. I don't mean to sound arrogant, anything can happen of course and I'm certainly not saying it's set in stone, that's just my belief.

Should be very interesting though, especially the 1st leg IMO.

Welcome to the board. I find it an interesting draw, as you will provide a tougher test than a minnow team from somewhere in Scandinavia (because Young Boys didn't have us all fearing the worst for a while ), however it is a shame we have to play you so early as I would like all the home nations teams to do well.

In terms of the outcome of the game, I think we will win, as the fortunes of the PL allow us to have a second string team who would be capable of challenging for the SPL title. Anyway, good luck to you guys and may the best team win.

Hearts have always been my Scottish team since I was a kid - always look out for them. Think it's because my best mate supported Hibs, so wanted to be different. So like Camaj said, bit gutted, as wanted them to go quite far, although now fear they won't.

Good draw, I'd say. Good to be in the UK so not much travelling. Shame it's our first game now, and yes chances of a Young Boys, but I'm relatively confident we'll be untroubled.

Best of luck for the season fella

I have to admit I know very little about the Hearts team Robbo. Who are your best players, what formation do you play etc etc. I need to let Harry know and haven't got time to watch any videos!! ;-)

This is one of my dream draws in all fairness as a scottish family Im very close to are all Hearts fans.
Im very much looking forward to this one however I am wary as I hear that even though some say that Rangers and Celtic are grand, Hearts actually are the best team in the land

Thanks for the replies chaps. RE team selection,we have a host of injuries so it will depend on who is fit. Between the injuries and a new manager trying to get new ideas over to the players it makes it harder to call. I would say we a couple of players who can do a turn. Wee David Templeton and Andrew Driver(not fit tho) are 2 to look out for. Wee temps can ghost past players but has had a dip in form as all young players can. The new manager is trying to get us playing a bit more of a patient build up from the back.Time will tell if we have the players to play this way. Im a believer in playing to your strengths, square pegs etc.I reckon we will go 451,but with a more attacking version at home .I could be talking absolute crap just to throw you one because I know HR will be reading this thread:hello:

Anyway guys looking forward to it and enjoy yourself in Edinburgh. Bring plenty of £ because you will need it but the eye candy during the festival is top drawer. good luck with getting somewhere to stay because the city population doubles during the festival. If anyone is absolutely struggling for somewhere to get your head down the clubs are open until 5 am and im sure there will be easy pickings for a smooth talking cockney.

Your lads that come up will have a blast. I cant make it to WHL so gutted. Im not even a ST at Tynie any more due to work/family commitments:cry: Honestly the fandango that hits Edinburgh during the festival is class. Of coarse I am only allowed to look and not touch now:whistle: How many fans do you guys reckon will come up without tickets?
