Now we've sold Sissoko I'm not really bothered whether Winks stays or goes. Might not be the worst thing in the world to keep him around another year for cover in the league and as an ECL starter, as none of our academy CM's seem even remotely ready for first team football.

I know people are going to hold tightly to the rumours of him going to the press last year and bring it up as fact for the rest of his Spurs career, and that's fine, but under Nuno I'm personally giving him a clean slate.

If he can prove himself as a reliable squad member he'll be incredibly useful when the fixtures pile up between December and March, and he might even add a bit on to his value if he decides to leave next year.
I think a lot also forget the benefit of him being English and club trained. You are going to give them longer then perhaps you would other players. I don’t really follow lower league football but are there any other English CMs we should be looking to snap up?

If we were to get rid which is very unlikely now, I’d really like to replace him with a player who plays in the Eriksen mould. Someone like damsgaard. We are missing this in the squad.

Honestly, we might need him. 2015 - 2017 Winks was a good squad player that almost always put a good shift in. He has his obvious limitations but his performance against Pacos - albeit crap opposition - was encouraging.

Well, we have plenty of cup fixtures to contend with and hopefully he can keep solid performances going.

far play to him, if he is getting his head down and impressing. 5 central midfielders ahead of him at present so needs to keep going

I'm anti Winks being a starter or close but we could do much worse as a sub.

With that said I think the jury is still out on Skipp too.

We haven't had a good #8 since Scott Parker 2012/2013. Paulinho. Mason. Winks have all underperformed.

pathetic

I watched a good portion of Skipp at Norwich and he has a lot more that he can offer our team. I think he's still getting used to Nuno and gulf in quality compared to the Championship. Rest assured though, he will improve, gain more confidence and put in even better performances.

I can't fault Winks for wanting to try and win over a new manager. He knows what he needs to do and it's patently clear that PEH, Skipp, Dele, GLC are above him in the pecking order. He just needs to put in solid performances in the cup fixtures and potentially get a runout in the league when our December fixtures hit.

Disappointed his still here. We continue to give average players multiple chances expecting different results

Impressing Nuno doing what exactly?? This is why we cant have nice things.
Tries hard in practice, is my guess. Really hope NDombele just takes the piss by going 1/4 speed in training all season but consistently embarrassing Winks (who is going 130%) at every chance.

Or, nobody wants them so we have to honour the contract.
What is it that people don't get about we can't just move them out when we want. All clubs have this issue.
