Whole of Europe will be in various degrees of lockdown again before this year is out.

Travel between countries for football is not necessary and all the cometitions should be placed on hold for the season.

This obviously will not happen as will cost too mich money to tv companies who only look after self interest

Its not the FA's fault its UEFA for insisting this new tinpot tournament is squeezed in. anything outside of official world cup and euro qualifying should have been binned to allow club football to catch up.

Yep. It is crazy it wasn't just sacked off for one year. I know the lesser nations rely on the money but the bigger ones surely don't with no fans in the stadiums.

I'd have no problems at all with getting Wood in. Probably all that you'd want in a backup. We don't have the money to give Kane some competition but we can keep him fresh and bring on Wood in games where something different is needed. Crucially, Wood is much more aggressive than Llorente is and will work a lot harder to get on the end of crosses.

Wood would be fine, I guess. My question would probably be why would he want to leave there to come here? He played 29 matches (26 starts) last season for Burnley in the PL and it’s highly unlikely he would get even half the amount of starts for us, barring a Kane injury. Nevertheless, we know he could lead the line, he is a decent age and has shown he can score goals. I just wonder what he would cost, and while they are different types of strikers, if it’s anything more than £20m, I’d question why we wouldn’t be interested in a player like Edouard. But, that’s probably more or less down to personal preference, and Mourinho may just want a hulking CF type, and not a mobile/creative one.

I know, such a joke of a National team. In fact, the whole FA is a joke of an organisation stuffed with clowns from top to bottom

Southgate could still use his brain though and pick a striker who has actually had some pre-season minutes rather than risking the fitness of his star striker...

I’d have no problem with Wood coming in either.

We just need to get someone who can play up top and hold up the ball so we can rest Kane.

I’m hoping Celtic’s early CL exit might make Edouard more possible for us

Wood is one of those players that most people think is very average but for me would be a great backup.

More mobile and physical than Llorente and I remember him bullying our back 4 on numerous occasions over the last 3 years. Might not be very prolific but we have way better attacking options who can score than Burnley so that doesn't bother me.

Always seems a twat to play against and I'd have no problem with him being our twat.

Wood scored a third of Burnley's PL goals last season, and they finished only 5 points behind us. Good enough for me (y)

Good player and wouldn't mind him but he's from New Zeland right so another non home grown so we'd have to move a few on first anyway but yea double figure goals last 2 seasons and always a pain to play against, could be another astute signing. I like these more 'safe' signings targets, better players from clubs just below us, its smart business.

Where he's from is irrelevant if he was registered for an English club for 3 seasons before and including the season in which he turned 21.
