Agree that this was mental weakness for the squad.

Couldn’t get themselves up for the fight.
Nah. Players aren't good enough. Bissouma and Kulu aren't good enough for what we need and other players are too inconsistent and flaky. The system is high risk and when too many players are off it the system fails.

Ange "If we finish 5th, and I think we've got a team to challenge next year, I won't be disappointed"

This!

If we are to achieve something, we have to play the long game

Everyone would take that, if we really could challenge next year. But the squad still needs serious surgery up front.

I even had mates, United and Liverpool ones, saying lets see if you'll resort to type after a big win....

I said I dont think we will...one of them said, its what Spurs do mate lol

Sigh ffs.
United hardly in a position to talk though are they

Sonny saying it’s a big wake up call for everybody. He was possibly our worst player. Don’t think he is good enough to play up front because he cannot hold onto the ball. When he gets it there are defenders all round him, when on the left just him and the full back.
Well beat today. Forget about it and make sure we beat Luton.
Must say Antonee Robinson confirmed once again what a brilliant left back he is.
Where gave these huge holes in the middle of the pitch come from. Like watching Man Utd. Bissouma.?

Every single one of them was worse than their opposite number today. They thought they would just turn up and win. Pathetic performance.

Perfect storm today. By far the worst team performance. Not one single player came out of that game that you could say played better than a 5/10.

We lost in every single aspect of the match. They out muscled us. They out hustled us. They were nearly perfect with the ball in terms of control and passing. They were nearly perfect off the ball, be it attacking or defending. They played with urgency and power. The exploited our weaknesses with precision. They were simply, the far superior side.

So, while we were shit, i'd also give credit to Fulham, as I thought that is the best any team has played against us this season. The scoreline was a fair reflection of how the match played out.

Ange has some thinking to do. As the one thing that was unacceptable was the complete lack of competitiveness.

Very disappointed at that lack luster performance especially after last weeks result. I’m not really sure why I’m surprised after 60 odd years of suffering 😃.
The fact is this is what we are. It doesn’t matter who the manager or players are since the early 60’s we have never had any real consistency over a season which is why our trophy cabinet is sparsely filled. Turning up and winning at one of our nearest rivals one week only to follow it with an abject performance and loss the next week against an, at best, average team is what we’ve been doing in virtually every season since I was infected with the Spurs bug. Shooting ourselves in the foot whenever we look like making a gallop to the finishing line has become our modus operandi.
We’ve also been saddled with managers, regardless of how good they are, who refuse to make early substitutions when it’s obvious we’re not in the game. Sorry Postie but substitutions should have been made at HT instead of waiting until we’re 3-0 down!
Someone also has to explain to me what Kulusevski has to do( or not do) to be dropped or at least substituted before the final minutes?

A really, really bad day at the office.

Sadly, I think one of these days was coming.

We give up far too many chances and only perform in half a game. There was going to be a time we got found out.

I really hope it's a wake up call, but I am concerned that despite being out of the cups and having a whole week to prepare for games we don't seem to be seeing the patterns of play or drive and determination I'd expect to be seeing at this point.

Good test for Ange to see how he make the step up to the toughest league in world without the best squad in the premiership.

Sometimes I just feel like throwing in the towel with this club, but we are a team in progress in the boss's first season. Just don't know how we drop in mentality like that. Next season we can allow very few slip ups

Our biggest issue was we often passed the ball in to feet when the player was moving forwards for the ball ahead of them. Fulham often stepped onto the ball and that got them goalside often and then outnumbered us in midfield. Too many commited players going forward is always going to cost us if the passing is off. So many were off it with their passing.

What gets me is how we can have a full week with no midweek games and look so slow to everything, so poor at passing. How a team with 4th in site has less desire than a team with little to play for but an outside chance of conference league football. The inconsistency is puzzling after such a consistent start to the season. Every game feels it could just go either way and you never know what Spurs will show up. Often flipping between good and bad in the same game.
This is what no selection pressure does to an XI. Aside from the LW spot, and all the guys going for that are inconsistent at the best of times, every other position on the pitch is pre-determined. Richy will come in for BJ, but the rest of them will start next week.

Vicario probably the only one who came out with credit. I don't think he did much wrong today. Says a lot about the performance. I just felt bad for him.

I'll be surprised if Bissouma starts and hopefully VdV will be back. Werner also has a chance. I think he will make a few changes.

I've been hearing that since the last millennium, 2008 was a blip. Falling short is what we do.
