Had to do a funny rating for that phrase (kryptonite to any tactics). Genius.

Only way of summarising it, isn't it?

You could put Winks into prime Barca tiki-taka, but it's not going to work if Xavi passes like he's shooting, and shoots like he's passing.

I think Nuno's mistake last night was trying to shoe horn a system into suiting the players that were available ie Doc, Davies, Sess, CCV.

One of the problems we have is that Sess and Doc are not fullbacks and are better suited to a 3-5-2 but even at that they are bang average. I just worry that if we stay in Europe Nuno will persevere with 3 at the back just to play our backups (Doc and Sess) when in reality we are better off selling them and bringing in some quality additions (ie Tomi, Nandez, Aouar) who can play in a 4-3-3 but with the added flexibility to shift to a 3-5-2 or 4-3-3 if needed.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Definitely. Hopefully yesterday will have gone some way to determining which players have a future under Nuno.

The positive in yesterday’s result (which can be easily overturned in the return leg), is that it has shown that the drop in quality from the first teamers to the second stringers is quite significant. There is still sufficient time for the club to get in upgrades before the window closes.

The big problem now is to get buyers for the players that we need moving on.

I think he did everything exactly right. Like Dog War Man said above, the travelling would have been a massive thing. A 1-0 loss shouldnt be a result that even that side couldnt over turn at home. Have the big boys on the bench for the last 30 if needed.

I would expect/hope that he would treat the group in exactly the same way (should we get there) - most 1st teamers dont even travel, win our home games and get through

Only thing here, if you win your group you get a bye and avoid the first round of the knockout stages. Two less games on our way to glory...

I have a feeling the embargoed session that will be released at 10.30 might be interesting.

Isn't the embargo just to leave some quotes fresh for the papers? As much as we'd all love to see it, I'm not sure we'll get any x-rated, f-bomb laden Nuno slagging off fest :(

I get that there's some on here who don't rate the lad (though I don't agree with them) but what the hell has Rodon done to make him behind these players when it comes to squad selection?

He’s carrying a minor injury according to a report by Ally Gold from an interview with NES.

No but they do sometimes reveal more in a relaxed setting. Poch used to. I do think Nuno dislikes these press conferences though so probably nothing.

Took Nuno about 5 minutes to suss Ndombele, Aurier and Sissoko - all 3 have shown that they want to depart. Who can remember the image Tanguy posted at the end of last season depicting him and Harry, with text indicating they would be off. Lets hope we can shift Tanguy asap, bags of skill, no heart.

Must have missed him posting something alluding to that. If so...what is he paying his agent for? Has the bloke had more of a mare this window than CK66?
