Fantastic player. More of a Son replacement for when the time comes. As we all know the injuries are the main concern. It's similar to the risk that would be posed if we had signed Zaniolo. You can never tell.

I rate Chiesa higher than Vlahovic, but I think we need a number 9 more. Vlahovic hasn't hit his Fiorentina form at Juve but that doesn't mean he's not going to be world class. He's only 23 and in the right setup can be fantastic.

I honestly find Dusan’s injuries more concerning then Chiesa’s at this moment. As I pointed out in his thread. If he didn’t have them I’d agree with you but it’s a big question mark. His talent isn’t up for debate tho for me.

Ultimately i don’t see us buying ether. I think ether will be too rich for our blood and too complicated a deal now that they have decided to keep them supposedly. I also don’t see us buying 2 CF, even if 1 is 21. Ether way round as far as attackers go we need a CF and a WF. Personally they should be a priority over a CM or another no 10.

Most likely scenario for me is Orban and a WF in the £40/45 mil range, whoever that will be, and then using Son as the third CF option. Tbh that might actually be the better move as I think our wings are weak for this system and putting more money into a WF then a CF may well have a bigger effect. At a guess Dusan will probably be £65-75 and Chiesa £50-60. Even one isn’t going to happen imo. Would love to be proven wrong tho.

Ultimately the sooner we sell the better because it seems that is holding up our business quite a bit. I’m sure every agent under the sun is in contact with us now tho. I also wouldn’t be surprised if we are waiting to see if more options open up as the window slowly creeps to an end.

ACL injuries usually require 9 months or so before a player can return to competition; however, it takes twice that long before the regain their explosiveness and agility.

In major league baseball, Ronald Acuna Jr tore his ACL in June of 2021. He played in 2022 but at a reduced level. This year he is having the best speed/power combined year in the history of baseball.

Chiesa should just now be getting back to his best. If we could get him for a good price, now would be the time to move.

Also don't think we should expect a lot from Bent this season, but he could be like a new signing for 2024/2025.

Completely agree, a season working back to one's best is very common for those who have suffered ACL injuries. We need to keep our expectations in check regarding Bentancur, a failure to return to form immediately would be perfectly expected and not necessarily an indication he'll never fully recover. The same applies to Chiesa.

It's a risk, but if Chiesa is truly looking like himself again and Juve need the money, it's a risk I think we should take.

Dream scenario for me would be this guy, Gift Orban and Nico Williams signed with the Kane money. Two wingers with searing acceleration to beat the fullback regularly for either side and a young striker would be a worthy rebuild. Use Son and Kulusevski centrally where they belong.

People keep saying that players never comeback from an acl, however some do.

Shearer and RVN for example. They did theirs relatively early in their careers. The had a decent career afterwards.
Shearer was a bit of a totem pole after though, his game wasnt based on being fast though, more about twatting the ball hard

Pre knee injury Ansu Fati, I would have said yes but he sounds to have had some serious issues with his knee and wouldn't be surprised if Barca are maybe looking to cash in knowing long term there's a risk the knee may not hold up.

Didn't he have something like 4 knee ops in under a year and eventually they had to remove the meniscus? Too much of a risk imo.

All this debating yet I’m 99% sure that even if we agreed a fee… he’d 1. Turn us down 2. A bigger club agrees the same fee and takes him

It takes a good year after "recovering" from an ACL injury before players start potentially getting back to their best. The mental side Is really hard too. Anyone that's done it here will know that it's hard trusting your body after. He's not lost any pace and it's a big gamble but one that could really pay off. He's just starting to get it back slowly again. Some player before all this. Only a baby aswell.
If this isn the case maybe we try and do a similar deal to what we did with Bentancur and Kulusevski. Get him on loan with an option/obligation to buy if he reaches certain targets.

Do you think Juve would accept such a deal for their star player?

Depending on how much of a loan fee they get they might. If they don’t get an offer for a transfer they like and the price we agree with them is better then that could also make them decide to accept.

I would expect them to turn it down though. Maybe around deadline day though they might change there minds.

Cant play wide, more of a number 10/second striker, would drop deep seeking the ball if he was our striker, which Ange doesnt want from his striker. I am sure there are other reasons too, maybe his wages and lack of development.

If what you are saying is true, then we can write off Bentancour being at his best for the rest of the season?
