Simple solution: regarding any money matter, from now on Ade should refer his family to go through Levy first

This man has had to live a fucked up life. I remember the interview he gave a while back about how his mentor (practically a brother) died in his arms when the Togo bus got shot up and all the other things he has had to endure. Personally I've always sympathized with him and think the fans that boo him are disgusting.

After reading it, it's the same story from him as the ones he told before - "I gave them money, and they hate me."
Not calling him lying but it's way too one sided to know what's what. Something's missing, probably a lot of it. Through out it all, the underlining question seems to be that 'I gave them money, now why don't they love me?' , as in every single family member he mentioned, his main point starts with 'I gave them money and...'

Maybe he did everything right and just happen to be in a bad family; or just more of people from utter poverty don't know how to handle the vast riches from family members; it must be so hard to handle because it's so easy to ask. Maybe he's playing the victim here, or maybe it's really how he sees it and truly feeling sad and he did nothing wrong in causing this...But the cynical side of me refuse to feel any sympathy towards him.

It does make me appreciate Drogba more on how he handles things around him though.

Or maybe his family are just a bunch of soulless, mercenary ****s, some families are like that! Imagine if you won tens of millions on the euro lottery, I bet you'd see a different side to many of your family members, sometimes money can be a curse!

Imagine someone wanting money for doing nothing.

He's been through some tough times and it can't be nice having family only seemingly interested in getting a free ride but it's hard to really feel a great deal of sympathy regarding the crying over him giving money and not getting much in return considering how he is.

Does make me possibly understand why he is how he is though further. And I think a hell of a lot of footballers are the same. They hit a payday, gain an extraordinary amount of wealth that can help family or others and that's it they're done. Feels like the ambition isn't in achievement but in being able to make yourself and others comfortable. And they then stagnate knowing they've achieved what they wanted to.

He played a few minutes against Man City.

I think a couple of people in here could do with a trip to certain parts of africa for some perspective. I believe every word ade says.

Yeah, I actually don't think his version of the story is too biased, I very much believe it is as he says. However, at the end of the day, Adebayor is a privileged man. I feel no more sympathy for him than for any other stranger, and I expect him to be good at his job despite his issues. Millions of people have similar problems, or other problems reaching the same extent, but nothing close to the pay check or the relaxed life style. Count your blessings and get on with your life, that's what I say.

I wouldn't be surprised if he chose to communicate this now, hoping that it would aid him in finding a new club to play for. If he gathers a bit of general sympathy, maybe he hopes that a new club will find it easier to take a chance on him?

This is the problem with a lot of people in that sentence.

Rubbish view. Adebayor cannot be exempt from the expectations that come with his pay check and the talent that he does possess. As I said in the post you quoted, loads of people deal with shit all the time, often with little or no income. Adebayor is a stinking lucky man, he deserves no more sympathy than any other stranger.

But I would sympathise with anybody who had these same problems, not anymore or less. Also not everyone is built the same mentally, some people play on after a family member has died and some need some time off. How can you be expected to perform if you are suffering from stress or depression? and that goes for anybody rich or poor.

Weekly wage has little to no impact on mental state. "I don't care if his whole family have recently died, he earns 100k a week" is the impression I get.

That's the impression you want to able to say that you get. Adebayor is lucky, the blessings in his life are numerous, and as much as I sympathy with him to the same extent I would feel for any stranger, his life is far more fortunate that loads and loads of souls can ever dream of. I extend him the sympathy a human being should show for anyone, but I hold him to the same standards many people must hold them selves in order to simply survive.

Exactly because he doesn't have to perform is one of the reasons why he is so lucky. A safe life, high standard of living, a really good year's salary coming in every week, regardless of whether he "can" or "can't" perform. That's stinkin' lucky.

Errr...isn't that what he is doing?
No need to share that kind of bs to us, keep your problems to yourself, besides doesn't seem to be bothering him too much looking at his Instagram account. #Lifesgood alright for this prick!

We all deal with issues differently, who gave you authority on how issues should be dealt with? If you don't like him then its very easy to ignore his instagram, facebook, etc.. or simply skip over his threads.

Care to explain what you mean by this?

It is easy to put on a smile, when hurting inside. I would say that his recent activities of "#LifesGood" on Instagram is a facade, a way of sheltering the problems in his life in order to show strength, not just to others but to himself. We can criticise his performances at "work" all we like and to a degree, they have been unacceptable, but it must be one of the hardest things to feel unloved by your own family; To feel worthless when all you have done is help.

And you know what they say, a problem shared is a problem halved. Have you ever shared your bullshit to friends, to family, to work colleagues?
