Cynic in me wants to see some facts on what these outfits do. Facts, like tax returns (or exemptions), lists of trustees, beneficial owners, organisation structures, dispertion records, charitable applicants (or at least application criteria) etc

I can find no public record on anything there mentioned being altruistic (beyond the assertions on the article) and I've had a good 30 minute search for abything credible at all & come up stumped

In fact I find that the SEA foundation was formed in 2014, has no assets, no official status (charitable or otherwise) & it states "We are just at the start of the journey: the SEA Foundation is now starting to raise funds for the first round of projects."

So it has no initial seed funding, it has raised zero & distributed zero. So this money he's been donating to his foundation for years is where exactly?

You are able to donate on its website though. Mmmmmmmm

Apparently he asked ManC to pay 50k a week to his charity - not sure if he intended that to come out of his £170k pw or not ?

That's 8.8m per year he earned at City for his 34 appearances over his 4 year (35.2m) contract.

That was the settlement wasn't it? That was how much he was paying out of his wages whilst at City before he took a pay cut to come to us.

Pretty much halve that for tax as well.

I'm not saying he's not wealthy, but there's more to it than that. Not exactly the first footballer to spend his pension by 35.

I'm not being a grief merchant, but I also think he should probably be given the benefit of the doubt.

But I suppose he did commit the hideous crime of being paid to play football for another team that happens to play football in a similar area.

I really couldn't care less - in fact I see it as a mark of quality - that he was good enough to play for Arsenal (and RM and City) - but I'm really not sure he's been giving 50k out of his wages every week - it sounded more like he was asking City to make the donation - and this was during the proposed move to Spurs not something that was already in place by the sound of it.

I think what is startling is how little football he's played over the last 6 years and how enormously well he's been paid for not doing so.

Seems to be a distinct lack of the word 'allegedly' throughout. Adebayor has made a bunch of allegations and nobody here knows how much (if any) of it is true. Just saying.

He'll probably sign for another club on (another) bumper contract (likely his last big one) and retire from football an extremely wealthy man. He will then go on to sign a 10 year multi million per year deal with a Togolese TV station on a reality TV show keeping up with the Adebayor's.

It's all a ploy with Adebayor. It's all PR. Bin him off. Suicidal thoughts one week; posing next to his Rolls Royce the next. It's bollocks.

No. But I work in PR.
So explain to me how this is good PR for him?

You're suggesting it's not real, that he's pretending for PR reasons so you must have a pretty firm idea of how this is going to be helpful to him?
