He is a spurs player, it really seems to me most people are biased at that. When lamps or gerrard hav a bad game, they say it and move on and pick out something fab they done. Simple, they play for big sides and these jokers at BBC class Spurs's players as second rate!!
I hope he plays again and scores again, then what will they say?! I hope capello is a bigger man than all the other managers, if he is he will play inform players and no-one else,if not he will play lampard and gerrard together!!!
Jenas was no worse,or no better than anyone else, and scored and isnt that what we want, a player that even if he is not playing at his best can get in the position to tap in, or pile on a nice flick shot.
Liniker should stick up for JJ, bloody losers the lot of them.

A Good pre-England match interview of JJ, he gives us an insight into his selection and even talks about how things are going with Ramos and Spurs.

Go to FA.Com click on video console or wayne rooney video exclusive then "England Spur for Jenas"

The media is reporting that JJ was one of only six players that impressed Capello on Wednesday night. What a turnaround from less than a year ago when Robbo, Lennon and Defoe were England squad members and JJ hardly got a look-in.

I'm not really surprised by that at all. Capello likes defenders who defend first (hence selecting Brown over Richards) midfielders who work tirelessly and cover a lot of ground.

My bet is that the list of 6 is Crouch, JJ, Gerrard, Bently, Cole and Rooney. I doubt any of the defenders particularly impressed him. Cashley was dreadful, Rio wasn't great, Brown had a horror first half. If anything Upson had the best game of the lot of them but is miles of the standard. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Woody in there next time.

I'd go

-----------------------James

----Richards Woody Ferdinand Bridge

---------Jenas--Hargreeves-Gerrard
Lennon------------------------------------Cole
--------------------Rooney

Subs: Carson, Upson, Carrick, Bentley, Young, Crouch, Defoe

Tho in writing that, I've changed my mind several times

Being England manager is a hard job!

And to the person saying they're sorry we missed out on Petrov, i'm not!

He's a luxary player... how many times this season has Malbranque tracked back at a million miles an hour and broken up the oppositions attack? If Petrov loses the ball he just loses all interest, same if City are on the attack and someone doesn't pass to him as soon as he demands it he gets bored and just stands still! NOT the sort of player we want at Spurs!

Pretty good Chris, I'd almost go along with that. We really don't have a decent keeper, I might be tempted to play Robbo still.

As for left back, Wayne Bridge and Ashley Cole are as bad as each other. Think I'd be tempted to slot Barry in there, or someone like Lescott, Shorey or Baines. Anything but Cashley or Bridge.

Totally agree about Petrov too.

If we play a lone striker it has to be Crouch, Rooney just cannot do it. Cole has to be the next attacker on the team sheet which means if Rooney plays it has to be at the expense of Lennon.

I'd also have Carrick in place of Hargreaves as most of our games are against teams who stick 10 men behind the ball and Jenas/Carrick/Gerrard should be more than enough to counter that.

As for Petrov/Malbranque I have to agree with you. It makes me laugh that a few months ago Commolli was being slagged off for missing out on/not wanting Petrov and Elano.
A couple of months later and their now praising Malbranque and Jenas and any mention of the City duo has all but disappeared.

Malbranque was one of 2 who really impressed when jol was sacked, keane who is legend and malbranque played out of there skins after that and carried us in many a game before we started to settle under ramos.

Upson is one of the six, apparently

And Bentley was widely hailed as the second best England player on the pitch, so the likelihood of Lennon displacing him for next game are slim to none.
