I think Villa have hit a bit of a ceiling. You see it with a few clubs that threaten to gatecrash the champions league party. Bear with me on this as it'll sound a bit weird, but basically their problem is that they've got no glaring weaknesses in the team. For a team that wants to improve, having some glaring weaknesses in the side is actually a good thing, because they represent obvious and easy ways to strengthen.

Villa's problem is that from 1-11 they're just not quite good enough to challenge at the very top. OK they may have a few players who are, but it really is only a few. So if they want to take that final step up, it won't just be a case of adding a couple of players to address obvious weak spots and complete the puzzle. They'll need to replace most of that team.

I hope they continue to play Tielemans and McGinn as both are pedestrian. At best.

Anyone watching Blackburn vs Newcastle?

I could have sworn I’ve heard a guy in the crowd shout, “KIERAN, SHOW US YOUR FINGERS”

City have untied next.

That should be fun if Haaland has found his scoring touch again

Dubravka surely off the line on the first penalty?

A rule they have stopped following? Or just day by day, game by game?
