Well I was going to watch the Euro's final tonight, but it clashed with T4 on the Beach Highlights. Why would UEFA do that?

Spain deserves it, they were the best team of the competition. just disappointed it wasn't a more exciting match.

Jordi Alba is pure class, been good seeing his emergence. Will be a better buy for Barca than Bale would have IMO.

It just seems really wrong Torres running around with that trophy.

Don't particularly disagree with that and we concur Spain's goals were brllliantly crafted.

I was watching Pirlo closely, and he was getting really frustrated at not being able to dictate play. Always there was a player in his way, shadowing him and stopping him dictating play. Making him pass it sideways, or spin away from the ball to try to make space. Time after time it was Xavi close to him. Which feeds into your last point....

Spain were able to sacrifice one of their playmakers, Xavi, to closing Pirlo down. That said, Xavi was still able to make the killer pass to Alba.

If Torres was the player of two years ago, giving them a proper striker, Spain would be one of the greatest teams of all time.

Spain are one of the greatest teams of all time IMO. I wouldn't argue with the stuff about Spain limiting Pirlo's ability to play as much in dangerous areas, but I think you are not giving Italy due credit for doing the same to Spain for the majority of that first half, or for actually trying to take the game to Spain for big chunks until they went down to 10 men.

It's not that I'm not impressed with Spain, they are a fabulous team and a credit to football. But I was bloody impressed with Italy this tournament and especially both games against Spain, where they were a pretty good match over the first game and a half for possibly the best footballing machine europe has ever produced, despite looking so inferior on paper.

i don't know what it tells us if anything but for a team made up of Madrid and barca players all four goals came from players who had never played for either of them. three goals to the premier league players.

How does David Villa get back into this team? 51 goals in 82 games for Spain. We'll never know now but would Del Bosque have played him?

He seems to be the only striker del Bosque has any faith in.
