Yes but as a footballer it would also be nice to play against the best in places like the camp nou.
Lets just win the europa then we can have both.
'nice'? Surely getting a medal is better than playing in a nice stadium in Spain or Italy?

I don’t know. I was a lot more excited when we beat Ajax in Amsterdam than I was when we beat Leicester in the 99 League Cup. Maybe it’s different for players.

The champions league is the pinnacle of football.
I'm not saying bent is right but i can understand why he feels that way.

It's possible to have differing views on things and neither be wrong. Personally I'd be in the chasing the champions league dragon over domestic trophies camp. Doesn't mean I think those who value winning a domestic trophy as more important than making top4 are wrong. It's just different desires.

I may be woring but I believe winning breeds winning, so winning a domestic trophy puts players in a better mental state when we do get in the champions league and belive we can actually win it

Wow.

The game is about glory and medals surely?

My experience is that when you are actually playing a sport it's about playing at the very highest level you can. The best venues, the best players etc.
But once you stop playing you mainly remember the highlights reel of the sport and the trophies/finals are the things that you value the most.
Even if they were at a lower level.

To add context Bent said as he didn’t play in the final he didn’t really feel like he’d won the medal which is fair enough really. I think scholes and Keane refused cl medals in 99 cos they missed the final

Joe Lewis and Daniel levy what is the ambition and end goal here? It’s been nearly 20 years with 1 trophy. If they were both genuine spurs fans they would want us to win cups , what do they define as success a champions league qualification ?

Are they bothered or do they feel envious at all seeing our weaker rivals win fa cups.. do they even care are they real fans or do they just want a profit margin.

In my opinion owners need to show ambition and set a marker , I have never heard levy once mention how he wants spurs to be the most successful club in England , I have never been an ENIC hater but it’s not good enough anymore .

Profit over glory , profit over silverware . The nearly club the maybe team the runners up . Even our fan base has bought into it , in Madrid last year we were happy to be there whereas Liverpool knew they’d win it

Mentality change starts from the very top and I hope Jose is ENICs way if salvaging something for US the fans

The least painful of all Goon successes yesterday nevertheless shines an even brighter light on the fact that under ENIC we’ve never quite had a strong enough squad to compete on multiple fronts.

always a couple of good players short, alternatives to Eriksen and Kane being the most obvious shortcomings when we were so close, followed by the more recent lack of a DM and competition in the full back positions.

let’s see if José is backed to address most if not all these issues in the coming weeks.

If GLC and Kane in particular have to play in all games, they will either run out of steam or break.

Where is the ambition? Being realised really rather nicely thank you very much.

The investment has more than paid off and the relevant bank accounts swollen to a more than acceptable degree.

Couldn't this just be in the ENIC thread or the 'Club Statement - Pochettino Leaves' thread?

Since ENIC have been in charge:

Arsenal have won Fa Cup 7 times, EPL x1. Champions league runners up x1, europa runners up x2. Top 4 x16

Spurs 1 league cup and 1 champions league runners up. 5 top 4 finishes.

I can understand why many fans are annoyed at enic.
