Some of these players are getting offered wages we just can't get near. Honigstein has just been talking about these 2 deals and then talked about Kagawa being likely to leave Dortmund. His info is Dortmund are offering a 50k a week deal, but that ManU are willing to pay 100k a week(due to only having one year left giving a low transfer fee).
If we some how finish top 4 this guy has to be chased. We'll still probably lose out to Utd or someone of that ilk, but we've got to try and bring him in

Excellent and versatile attacking midfield

I don't think we have the money to attract the size of players we need until we're sure we have CL next season.

Lets just focus on securing Champions League football first, thats the most important thing for our transfer targets this summer

I shall come back to this thread after we have signed Hazard, Llorente, Remy and Lloris! :)

On a serious note, none of these signings bother me greatly though so I don't know why some people are getting themselves worked up about. Also, like Legend10 says, the fact that Chelsea have signed Marin is more of an indication of interfering by the board than the wishes of the coach which is never a healthy situation.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want either Marin or Podolski, but its the intent that bothers me ! They've both realised we are now a serious threat and we are only 2/3 players away from being a real force, and have already started building for next season !

We need to act before the Euro's on at least one or two players and show Modric/Bale our intent !

Last season Liverpool acted quickly to sign Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam, Luis Enrique and Sebastian Coates. Same stress on SC as now. Where are we relative to Liverpool ?

Chill folks. The big announcement we should all be stressed about is the stadium sponsorship, after that comes the manager decision and only then squad re-shaping. We have shipped out a lot in the last 2 windows, have a number of others on short term contracts so the preparation is there. Also don't forget we have 2 cracking young players in Caulker and Naughton joining the squad with a year's experience under their belts.

Of course if twitchy stays then you can look forward to us going after more "dressing room characters" aka has beens but hopefully DL keeps it in check.

I don't think we need to panic there will be movement both ways this summer...It's pretty obvious we'll have to make signings ie Centre Backs and Centre Forwards and rid of surplus players Dos Santos Nelson Saha etc.

Our purchasing power is all dependent on where we finish this season. fail to qualify and we have less to spend on transfers and wages, and we'd also be looking to replace the players that are likely to leave (Modric and Bale). Add to that the uncertainty over the future of our manager and you have a clear understanding of why we have not signed anyone.

I believe Arsenal had the Podolski deal tied up early in Feb.

Chelsea signing Marin, makes you wonder whose choice he was, Di Matteo, Abromavoch or the New Man yet to be named???

We are ALWAYS 2/3 players away.

They have realised that City and United are way out ahead and they need to make up ground, nothing t do with us, we just helped with scaring them.

@Iandennisbbc: #THFC results dipped during England talk for Harry but planning continued. Spurs still lead the chase for @Jan_Vertonghen

"Spurs announce triple signing of Taarabt, Jarvis and Dann".

"Triffic lads these, unlucky to be where they were with their respective clubs but we were presented with an excellent chance to take them and I couldn't say no. I am hoping to wrap up a deal for Paddy Kenny but the chairman is dealing with that one"

:p Oh this summer could be very good or extremely bad, there is no in the middle now! It is all or nothing the next three games and the CL Final.

Our strategy?
Ponce about makingsome half-hearted effort to sign someone unrealistic then loan in a geriatric on deadline day.
