Does anybody else get as worried as me when two of our biggest rivals have already gone out an made their first signings ?

Will our strategy be as per all the previous years...wait until the last minute and we've already played a few games including a possible Champion league qualifier !!!!

We need to sort out the manager situation first before deciding which players we are going to buy!

Shouldn't we sort out our manager situation first and until Roy signs a contract we don't know if our manager is going to stay

Di Matteo is STILL the caretaker manager, and they have signed someone......

There is some suggestion with ITK and the press (Phillipe Auclaire I believe) that we have a deal struck with Hazard, contingent on UCL. So maybe we can win these last four and do something similar too

Maybe I'm just being too optimistic.

be nice if we signed some talent before the Euros but that's not our way, if we sign anyone before august 31st it will probably be Jnr Toilet

Our strategy... pending next 3 games, plus Chelsea CL result, plus manager decision.

Come back in 3 months time.

Problem is even if we finish 4th then Hazard et al would probably want to wait until they see the result of our qualifier. Which gives other teams plenty of times to snatch them... again. :(

"We have such a large squad, the chairman said we need to sell some of our more fringe players before we can make any big signings"

I'm dreading hearing this....

Maybe you are HS, but but it's possible if we finish in the CL places.

Look, i'm not too concerned by who Chelsea and the Gypsies have signed. I'm not overly fussed about either player to be onest. Marin, could possibly have done a job for us, but he seems to have stalled at Bremen, so I don't feel that it's too bigger loss. Podolski only seems to be a player at Cologne, he's a home boy, i'm not expecting much out of him if i'm honest.

Now if the headlines were Arsenal or Chelsea agree a pre-contract with Hazard, or Cavani or someone of that ilk, then i'd be a bit concerned. But not by these two.

Before we look to buy, we've got a bloated squad of deadwood that needs shifting.

Jenas, Bassong, Bentley, Corluka, and Pienaar will return from loans looking for another chance or exit. Combine this with Gallas, Freidel and King whose age and fitness are a concern.

Some of these players are getting offered wages we just can't get near. Honigstein has just been talking about these 2 deals and then talked about Kagawa being likely to leave Dortmund. His info is Dortmund are offering a 50k a week deal, but that ManU are willing to pay 100k a week(due to only having one year left giving a low transfer fee).
