Gazzaniga, Tanganga, Sanchez, Aurier, Bergwijn, Winks, Alli, Gedson

Neither in the squad just peaks volumes for the strength in depth we have.

And to all the people who liked that post. I know how how you know what a bukkake party is. More than once you've had a "live jasmine" tab open inadvertently on your browser. You dirty little slags.

COYS

God that live Jasmine stuff would really get on my nerves due to the inexplicably high volume if I had any idea what you were talking about.

Stevie is injured, maybe? He rested on the bench thursday, so its a little strange that he didnt even made the bench today

Think he has fallen behind the pecking order after his recent performances. Bale and Lamela are in front of him and Lucas had done well recently

This is a must win match against a team that will sit back and defend. The Europa games can be won with massive rotation, but in the league, the best players should be playing (especially when you've dropped 4 points in matches you should've won). Are Davies, Doherty, Sissoko, and Lucas the best four players at their position in the squad? One of Lo Celso or Lamela should have started this match to give the attack more energy and provide another outlet for ball retention. We'll still win, but hopefully Mourinho finds his best XI after the next international break.

I think that's a bloody good side Jose has picked FOR THIS GAME.

Maybe Lamela for Lucas, that's it.

He’s picked a team to defend aerially. Doherty and Davies better in the air than Aurier and Reguilón. Dier and Toby at CB with Rodon on the bench. Even Moura is a strong competitor aerially, although if Bale was 100% fit he’d probably have started.

Doherty absolutely mullered a newcastle player going up for a header. Hes a savage. Sent him off on a stretcher. He couldn't remember his address after it.

An Irish man (like myself) built like a tinkers greyhound . All ribs and mickey.

Going forward yeah. Defensively not so much. That's not a slight on Rodon, but it's a serious lack of experience from a defensive stand point.
I respectfully disagree Trix. Our defensive options on the bench are a 2x Premier League Goalkeeper with 75 England caps, a current Spanish international who last season won the Europa League and was rated as the top left-back in La Liga. I agree with you that Rodon is relatively inexperienced, but at age 23 he is already Wales' first choice centre back and has made 59 appearances for Swansea (and surely he'd have more if he didn't have injury issues). At 6'4" his inclusion in the squad would appear to be a tactical decision against Burnley though — as for experienced defenders like Aurier and Sanchez have been left out of the squad to accommodate him.

Keep looking back at the subs bench and noticing another big name that has missed out.

Been a long time since we have seen this kind of depth.

Nah probably just given the night off. Burnley are a physical team and I think Lamela, Bale and Lucas are all stronger than him. Him and Bale will be either side of Vinicius on Thursday I'd imagine.

Not a fan of going for height, rather play our best footballers.

Least we have options from the bench.

Surprised Stevie didnt play Thursday and didnt even make the squad today.

I called for this last week, against West Ham, set pieces are our achilees heel and we need our biggest players on the pitch especially against these teams.

Bit harsh he played alright against West Ham last Sunday. Lucas has had one good game against LASK the rest of the games he has played this season and arguable since December last year he has been pretty ineffective.

Aside from the selection of Davies over Reguilon, no complaints over that team selection. Even where Davies is concerned I can understand why he gets the nod tonight. I just hope we don’t fall into the trap of our front 3 getting isolated and playing into Burnley’s hands by being preoccupied with neutralising their threat.

Agree. If he’s not got a knock then it’s just simply on performances. He did ok against West Ham but wasn’t incredible, Lucas and lamela on Thursday night however were very good especially Lucas who fully deserves his start.

Didn't think Davies would start this one but makes sense given its Burnley and cold wet Monday night, Davies will have good experience of this compared to Regullion.

Line-up looks great, Dier and Toby makes sense as Burnley have very little pace, the rest of the team picks itself on form and fitness.

Attacking options off the bench of: Regullion, Lo Celso, Bale, Lamela, Vinicius is pretty insane, big boy bench.

Don’t see how Bale could be in front of him - he’s done fuck all. I think it’s more likely he taking his turn out of the squad. He’ll be back in the squad or team for the next prem match.

But on current form that game against LASL Lucas was phenomenal, his best game since CL Semi final so fully deserves his start here.

I think Bale will alternate between 20-30 mins in the prem and then start in Europe for a couple of weeks
Should be back to full fitness in time for the City game hopefully

Lucas didn't play recently better than Bergwijn and I can't remember when he played two good games in a row.
