Spoilers if you haven't seen it yet...

But the old format never worked because a decent wrestler (or more notably a BJJ fighter) would easily beat every boxer, kick boxer, kung fu, karate etc...

Which is why I still think Mir will win, because he's that much more rounded.

Yeah, I don't want Mir to knock him out because all the WWF fans will just say that it was always going to happen because they don't fight like that.

I want Mir to take him down and out wrestle him, getting a submission.

Seriously though, Lesnar is a fucking beast. Huge punches he was throwing there, on another day he could've won by TKO from strikes in the first round.

But also total proof that he needs a lot of work before he can be considered a real contender. Even in a very short fight, where he was in full control for most of it, and he still almost got caught by 2 armbars before Mir got the kneebar.

Lesnar seemed obsessed with punching him in the head, was far too over zealous and it showed with the 2 spanks in the back of Mir's head. He really does get fired up but watching the last few seconds of that match, when Mir gets that funky guard on, Lesnar was so intent on getting to Mir's face he wasn't even looking at where it was going or what the rest of his opponent was doing.

Still, he's learnt the hard way i guess - Mir's experience really payed off, superb concentration to keep to his plan under such heavy fire

yeah, i'm surprised that it came out like it did though - Coleman just blurting it out like that. I kind of think that Dana White realises the draw of Lesnar and really, really wants him on board, but can't have him fighting a bunch of chumps otherwise it'll be months before he gets anywhere near a PPV, fighting dark matches and card fillers.

In his first fight, he was offered a sacrifice and bludgeoned it to shit. The guy's a beast but, despite his immense record in am-wrasslin, he's abandoned all that and reverted to brute force. Granted, it worked on the poor little guy he battered, but it was such a missmatch it was embarrasing.

The fight against Mir was exactly what he needed to happen - he was served by a guy who used his head. Mir knew he could fend off Lesnar for a little while and lead him on. Lesnar being green and full of confidence waded in and Mir worked him a treat, snapping on a move that, had Brock been using his wrestling brain instead of his gorilla brain, he should never have let happen.

Now he's lost to a guy who survived a horrific bike crash, so what next? I know, lets let him fight a legend who's probably old enough to be his dad!

Funny thing is, Coleman's another wrestler and, if Brock insists on relying on being a mountain rather than his roots, i can see him getting owned again. Coleman wasn't an easy guy to knock down in his prime, i can't see that he'll be that much easier, even at the age of 43.

Coleman, 2nd round, submission.
