Three days is a little short on time, but if I have to be on one side of the fence or another, I would say that it will not matter much in the end.

The experience for the players will matter more. The recognition and publicity of the club matters more. I may be off the mark here, but I think it will be much better for season preparation than not. It will force the players to stay sharp.

It is up to Pochettino to help keep them sharp and well-rested and ready for the first EPL match.

It doesn't matter about the size of our squad, there is no way Poch and his staff can prepare as thoroughly for the opening PL game as our opponents. What about if we have Citeh or United away first up? We're going up there with one hand tied behind our back.

It will give you something else to moan about!

What a fucking disgrace. Absolute shambles.

No pre season tour. Travels from England to America to Germany a beginning a week and a half before the season starts and ending 2 days before the season. Classic Levy.

Much rather go on tour and be back in England a week or 2 before the season.
Of course it's all Levy.

I honestly can't see how any manager could turn down the chance to play against two of the biggest clubs in Europe, with a guarantee that we will play one of the top 3 European clubs.

I don't disagree that the timing could be better. A week earlier would seem ideal, but it's not and it's not all doom and gloom!

No it's hardly a disaster, and hopefully at the start of the season we'll be well conditioned enough to deal with it anyway, particularly without the Europa League qualifying games.

It just seems that giving Poch the best pre-season possible should be our priority this Summer...and I don't think we're doing that with the pre-season matches and schedule we've got in place.

But as you say...let's hope it's not a massive thing and the taste of playing with the big boys is something our young team learns from and strives to get more of.

You really think Poch wouldnt turn it down and would be okay with only baving at most 2 days to prepare for the first game of tbe season? Lol

Hopefully the comments from Poch are legit too and that he's keen. I'd be disappointed if he was against it and has been forced into it.

Spurs up against Bale, probably several thousand Spurs fans there, a few renditions of 'He was born to play for Spurs'... I believe this is the first step on his return to Spurs...

I am not very ecstatic about the timing with the all star game and cup as well, but the schedule comes out June 17, we should have more than a couple days to prepare for our first match

Doubt we'd be playing either of them on the first weekend, the opening day never throws up fixtures like that between two of the top teams. But you can guarantee we'll be away from home, due to the 'Arsenal must be at home on the opening day of the season' clause in the PL rule book.

How funny would it be if Madrid fans end up booing Bale and we're the ones cheering him :ROFLMAO: How strange would that feel for him!

From Bayerns site:

Hosts FC Bayern and Spanish giants Real Madrid will be joined by AC Milan and Premier League high-flyers Tottenham Hotspur for the tournament at the Allianz Arena on 4 and 5 August 2015. :playful:

The semi-finals have also been arranged: Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur open the Audi Cup 2015 on Tuesday 4 August at 18.15 CET. German champions FC Bayern then take on AC Milan at 20.45. The losers meet in the match for third place on Wednesday 5 August at 18.15, before the winners contest the final at 20.45.

Looking forward to this no doubt it will be on ITV4 or Sky Sports (hopefully not BT though :cautious:)
Talk about putting the pussy on a pedestal...;)

WTF are you talking about, preperation for the first game will start as soon as the fixture list is out, this is 2 FRIENDLY GAMES, training on a daily basis is usually a morning with the team away at about 1pm. I cannot see how anyone can see this is a massive deal unless of course they have an agenda , the teams will be rotated and hardly playing at 100%.

Surely we must have seen the first release of fixtures as a club before accepting this invitation.

My money would be on us playing on the Sunday or Monday over the first weekend of the season.

fyp. the main men usually play a half in each match of a tourny like this. injuries are of course quite likely, might force levys hand in the market... something needs to.

You mean besides the clear month between when pre-season starts and the first game? The fixture list comes out in 2 weeks, it isn't some clandestine secret!

So happy we are part of it and will surely be there both days.

Is there an official block or something for Tottenham supporters?

.

Think the idea of giving Poch the best pre-season possible went out of the window directly the FA insisted that Kane, Pritchard and Carroll went to the E u21's, which with the u21 friendly before ensures they have insufficient rest between the end of the season and their u21 matches (regardless of Spurs week in the far east) and insufficient time afterwards....and the FA bringing the season forward by a week is just the icing on the cake
