I know it's a long shot but wouldn't it be great to beat Real and the Fat Spanish Waiter!

Glad it's not Kane between them...

This is absolutely crazy scheduling. Two games against uber teams a couple of days before the ManU away game?
In strength training, a technique sometimes used when someones training has hit a plateau is to do a "breakthrough workout" where basically, you go hard out and push to the limit (e.g instead of doing 3 sets of 5 reps at a particular weight, you do 20 straight reps). The next time you train, you are usually able to go up to that next weight easier due to the physical and mental effort put in last time around. Maybe the theory is the same here, we play a high level of opposition, which makes the players physically and mentally (and tactically) sharper for the next game at the weekend, but only give players half a game each to minimise fatigue.

Remember Poch agreed to this and knew about it before pre-season started, so he will have planned his training and behind closed door friendlies with this in mind.

It will be interesting to see how Poch manages Kane being the lone 'striker' there. I wonder if Chadli goes the 90' or if Chadli comes off the bench at some point to play the forward role so Kane doesn't have to go the full 90'.

Don't worry about it. He'll have signed for Madrid before half time.

We can live in hope, I guess.

I don't understand why Coulthirst wasn't taken on this trip, at least give him a chance with the first team in a friendly.

Slightly mixed feelings about this tournament, great exposure for us and should be a good test but equally, todays game is 4 days before the Manure game so don't want too much of a test. Hoping to see a strong side today and then as few players as will be involved against Manure playing tomorrow as possible but not sure how that'll work without us getting absolutely gubbed by Milan or Munich!!

surely this is too close to the new season? Were gonna end up with Kane with a broken leg and Lloris living in Madrid come Saturday...

It's funny that so many of you are complaining about the timing of these games. It's not like we employ fitness and conditioning experts or anything who's job it would be to advise on matters like these...oh, wait...
