What the actual fuck are they doing with that statement? There were no confirmed or clear and obvious errors in that match yesterday - it’s wholly irresponsible for a club to come out with that bullshit in an official capacity just because subjective/marginal decisions went against them in one bloody game. Not to mention pathetic and childish!

Honestly what the fuck are they thinking with that?

All it will achieve is a bigger fine and a longer touchline ban for Arteta.

You have to wonder what the club was thinking with a statement like that. When you consider that the referee's decisions were defendable whether correct or not, you have to wonder how much pressure is building up internally in the club. I can't imagine that they fully appreciate how the FA may come down on them. @Bluto Blutarsky got it almost right. a fine but i don't think it will be a double secret probation. It will be "clear and obvious". Also suspect a suspension for Arteta - 1 at least, perhaps as many as 3.

The Liverpool one, I understand to an extent because it was a mistake that meant a goal that should have stood, didn't.

Arsenal are just straight out complaining about a subjective decision from a referee, which refereeing decisions have always been!
And both outcomes respected the onfield decisions so VAR would have made no difference. We didn't put out a club statement for those joke penalties at Brentford where there was minimal to zero contact and The Emirates where the ball deflected up onto Romero's arm or Ayew's basketball effort at Selhurst Park. Mistakes happen and sometimes you benefit, sometimes you don't. They had nearly 30 minutes to equalise and couldn't even get a shot on target despite hogging possession.

In some kind of weird penance for accurately forecasting that Arsenal would fuck up last year, Gary Neville has sought to overcompensate this year by nominating the Goons as his bet to be Champions, declaring Declan Rice to be the second coming and putting out for the Milk Tray Man far more than is comely for a so-called objective pundit. However, following that statement from Arsenal, I think it's fair to say that even he's had enough.

No words for Arsenal, there were no mistakes, just Arse not liking the decision but Liverpool need to take accountability for the way they went about their VAR issues and I'm sure Arse now think this is what clubs should do.

Hopefully someone grows some balls and bans CBoy for longer and fines the club for bringing the game into disrepute.

I think another reason for the above "statement" is I wouldn't be surprised if some in the board have started shitting themselves that Legohead will lose the dressing room with his ridiculous behavour because the players will know that they were average at best yesterday and that they have regressed under him so far this year. And to the board that could mean £600 MILLION of Legohead spend down the drain, hence the statement is not only for external consumption but internal as well.

The FA/EFL/PL should dock points for their club statement, to set an example that this utterly irresponsible bullshit will not be tolerated.

Hahahahaha. That's not real surely? A club statement? Fucking hell!

That's made my day that has.

He needs to be Fined, Banned from the Touchline and the scum deducted points for that 'Club Statement', it's disgraceful, and embarrassing .

I've been in this country for 49 years....

No points will be docked. If this is something they want to do they will do it at the end of the season so clubs are aware of the ruling before making such statements.
