There is definitely something to be said about overplaying him.

You have to be really careful with younger players as playing them through pain barriers and injuries consistently can take its toll.

Arteta seems to play him every single possible moment, which suggests he heavily relies on him, but he should at least be rested from time to time.

They don't seem to have an able back-up or alternative for him
Their fans on their forum are not happy with Arteta for having overplayed him the last 18 months or so, they said he's going to end up properly crocked soon.

I think there is no smoke without fire about Saka's long-term achilies issue.

Sonny played all last season with his injury but ultimately it needed fixing, players can play through some injuries but only for so long.

Great to hear.

He has a duty off care over his players.

Reminds me a little bit of Fergie over playing Rooney. Although Fergie had Rooney doing a lot of Ronaldo's donkey work for a couple of years.

But still, he was overplayed and ran into the ground a bit so much so that by the time he hit his late 20's he was pretty ineffective. Saka obviously isn't as heavy as Rooney and doesn't have the build of a construction worker but injuries can lead to weight-gain and creaking parts if not given healing time.

he is you know!

He creates/scores almost 30% of their goals, him going down is worse than Jesus.

Supposedly this is the injury list: Saliba, Viera, Rice, Martinelli, Saka, Trossard, Partey and Timber. Guess we’re going see how good Smith-Rowe, Nelson and Nketiah do as an attacking unit. Could see Bournemouth getting a result here.

He is a very good player unfortunately. Don't forget he has only just turned 22 this month and already has 2 season's of double figures for goals in the PL and last season also got double figure assists. He is also think in the double figures for England goals.

At the same age, Kane had just come off a 26 goal/assist season, his first full PL season and had scored 1 goal for England. Saka got 25 goals/assists last season in the PL.

Too early to call him a "generational talent" but also too early to say he won't end up being one.
Saka is a very good player which only goes to emphasise how well Udogie played in the second half when he had him in his pocket.

We have to live with Alan Smith, Bent, Ian Wright, Walcott, Keown, Dixon, Alex Scott, Kevin Campbell, Henry, etc etc.

What do we have, Jamie O’hara?

Neville has in fact been quite negative of our playing out the back approach this season, especially with Porro and Udogie.

The only reason he sounded excited when we scored was because they were genuinely good goals, as opposed to a deflected goal and a penalty.

I think he was more shocked that we actually scored and it was counter to his thick headed ideas of how the game was going to go.

Looking objectively at that Arsenal team I would say the following:

Raya - good keeper who is now just testing himself at the top level. See how he gets on.

Zinchenko - decent player on the ball but a liability defensively.

Gabriel - decent premier league centre half, but not one that would be in the discussions for top level.

Saliba - clearly an excellent player and one that I could see moving to the elite clubs one day.

White - a CB playing RB. Ok for now but it’s a position they need to upgrade.

Rice - we all know he is a very good player but what he isn’t is a modern day number 6. If anything I think his best position would be an 8.

Havertz/Vieira - both poor players who are lower level PL level. If they were at Palace no one would be trying to buy them. Position is a must upgrade for them.

Odegaard - silky, talented footballer but is getting a reputation (worryingly for Arse) of not turning up in the big games

Saka - excellent young player, is Arsenals best player by some distance and without him they would struggle.

Martinelli - had a very good season last season but has started this season poorly and was poor the season before last. I would say this is a massive season for him to either prove he is very good or be a bit of a “can do is sometimes” player.

Jesus / Nketiah - neither player is anywhere near good enough to be a lone striker at the top level in the PL. easily upgradable position for the Goons.

Arsenals problem, as is ours as Ange stated the other day, is that the back ups are a big drop off in quality. Nelson, Tomiyasu, Smith-Rowe etc all decent players but nowhere near top level.

I almost agree with this assessment, but I think they’re all a little bit better than you’re giving them credit for.

Saliba, Rice, Saka all apparently traveled.

Shocking that Legohead was not upfront about injuries.

I didn't think Neville was celebrating that Tottenham had scored against Arsenal, it was more of a "now we've got a game" kind of noise he made and he was enjoying the roller coaster aspect of it.
