Going for Arteta is really risky :). Rafa would have been a good appointment for them, but he wants to finish his contract in China. I can't believe that Ancelotti suddenly became available just as they need someone and they're just going to ignore him.
The one for Arsenal would be Big Sam, as much as they hate to admit it. They are in a tailspin with seemingly no way out. At least Big San offers a way out. Arteta going there right now is equally risky for him as a first time manager. If he cant bring that club out of its tailspin, which is a significant possibility, he’ll be sacked and not get an opportunity somewhere again. At least for Vieira, there’s MLS.

Think they are fucked either way, a experienced manager will need to spend big but I don't believe Arsenal have the money. They need to rebuild, get rid of all the shit and players that don't want to be there and do it with a manager who will stay for the long term.

Problem is that the fans and impatient and I don't think they'd accept more years of stagnation and transition.

Reckon the board fucked up by not sacking Wenger quick enough in the first place, if they pushed him out in 2014 they probably could have hired someone reputable however the job now isn't appealing, crap players, no money, incompetent board and over expectant fans - it wouldn't surprise me if the majority of the managers they tried to hire turned them down.
They do. I think it's quite deceptive that they are broke. But not yet. I'm still waiting for their stadium debt and no participation in CL for so many seasons to bite them. Hard.

It would have been had he not spent a billion Euros to win a domestic treble with the team that was already the best team in a one team league. Plus Europa League is a far cry form Champions league
Not to mention in his first season at PSG he actually managed not to win the league.

What is it with this club chairmen. Most are millionaires/billionaires yet seem to lose their intelligence when they get involved with football. What exactly has Arteta done to deserve even being considered as Manager/Head Coach of a senior club like Arsenal ? Nothing is the correct answer.
I think they believe that because he's been working under Pep he'll would have picked up his methods. This is a risk, as we saw what happened with AVB after working with Mourinho.

Currently 100/1 with Sky to be relegated.

Their next 8 games are:

Everton away
Bournemouth away
Chelsea home
United home
Palace away
Sheffield Utd home
Chelsea away
Burnley away.

I can honestly see them getting no more than 5 points in that run. 7 points clear of the drop at the moment. I'm having a tenner on it. I'd question whether their players have the mental and testicular fortitude to grind it out.

I understand that but why not let him prove himself with say a CC1 club before dropping him straight in at a senior club. No other industry would do such a thing.

They are in a right mess and their owners just seem really really shifty.

It doesn’t seem they’re in it to try and win the trophies...

And their squad is really messed up, will take a while to sort that lot.

If it's true that Arteta's salary will be £5m a year, he'll be on three and a half times less than Ozil..

Nah they won't go down their forwards will get them out of the dirt, still funny to think about though.

I agree with you... at least AVB had a spell as manager of Porto before he went to Chelsea

As much as I'm enjoying Arsenal being balls, we're only 4 points better off than them and we're talking about hitting top four in time for Christmas.

Lets relax a little, no. They're in bad shape, but a new manager coming in will probably bring with it some decent results. They can still get their act together and probably will.

How many points do we need to be ahead of a team before we are allowed to laugh at them?

Oh, when it comes to Arsenal, I'll happily laugh at them if we're ahead of them on goal difference.

The point I'm making is, we've been burned by the mind the gap stuff before and 4 points, at this point of the season isn't a gap to get cocky about. 4 points can easily be wiped out over the course of two games. Happy to laugh, but relegation talk etc is overdoing it. We're hardly consistent ourselves.

I take the piss out of Arsenal at every available opportunity. Who cares if they have something to throw back at us? They do that anyway.

This is a bit boring though don't you think? I mean part of supporting your team is to laugh at your rivals especially since they would and have been doing the same to us.

I think, Arteta will be given another chance, considering how highly rated a coach he is. I think big sam would be a disaster for anything but the short term. If that. Ancelotti or Allegri are both incredibly obvious available choices, particularly the latter, who could help a club who are still in a CL run.

Ancelotti will give the team confidence to play to their ability, and is good at managing difficult dressing rooms, something that Arsenal appears to be. Meanwhile Allegri is a superb game by game manager who knows how to tactically out-think the opposing teams and could move them up the table.
