What was that, I missed it

They interviewed Claude and accepted without the slightest hesitation his excuse that it was a joke about Tottenham bringing out a DVD to celebrate beating Arsenal, and wrote the whole thing off as if there was nothing in it at all, despite it being patently obvious that that wasn't the case.

Which can be plausible as that is something we would do but Claude said something like DVD is going off or something like that... if he said DVD coming out then way more plausible

Exactly.

He knows what he said, and anyone who wants to can hear what he said. Sometimes the English language is quite straightforward.

All he had to do was acknowledge that he'd said something stupid and express his regret etc etc...but he tried to lie his way out of it.

What's worse though was that Robbie, the owner of the channel who regularly takes others to task for similar things, accepted one of the most implausible excuses anyone has ever tried to cobble together, without question.

Looks like a broken man

He's still in denial isn't he? He's claiming it was just a matter of unfortunate timing.

I feel sorry for him because it's never nice to see anyone struggling like this, but he really needs to be honest with himself if he wants to move on.

Why would people actually watch the live stream of these guys watching the game, instead of actually watching the game themselves?

He did do beforehand tbf.
again it’s a sort of non apology “the timing was the issue” No it wasn’t. Also the “good morning everyone, well not good morning for me” pity act Like he’s hard done by.

Fully agree. He is punishing himself for having been himself. He's old school where this was far more acceptable. It's a first step and hopefully, he'll be honest with himself and become a far better man for coming clean.

Good question!

I looked at some of it after the game, because it was funny knowing the result. But during the game? Must be mad.

Claude has gone, not the first time he's disappeared, but deserved for what he said.

The comments about Kane aren't racist and we don't need a witch hunt against AFTV. I'm sure there are comments in Spurs fan videos or podcasts that could be equally called out as edgy or even racist. Like fans from any club I bet.

How is the comment about Kane not racist when they’re referenced his skin colour?

Equality goes both ways y’know...

I'm not making judgement about the comment in question but not every reference to skin colour is racist. Simply saying 'he's black' about somebody is no more racist than saying 'he's gay' is homophobic.

I agree, but if that comment was made and it was black skin colour, it would be deemed racist and there would be outrage everywhere.

And on this occasion they said he is white so must be right which shows them to be a bit bigoted against white people tbh.

If you’ve seen some of our games recently you’d be thinking this was going to be more entertaining

Because not every reference to skin colour is racist.

The comment he made was accusing the referee of being racist in favouring Kane because he's white. That might be wrong for any number of reasons, but it doesn't make it a racist comment.

Sorry but the comment on this occasion is clearly racist.

He shouldn’t even be making reference to a decision going against a player due to their ethnicity / skin colour, it just shouldn’t come into it.

And I agree not every reference to skin colour is racist but sadly all too often you’ll see people crucified if they make a comment about someone being black, but it’s okay to say someone is white in a derogatory manner. Equality goes both ways.

No, that's a false equivalence.

He was criticising the referee for treating Kane differently from a black player.

Like the whole white privilege argument, whether you agree that it exists or not, arguing that it does as he was is not racist.

Sorry but I really can’t see how you argue that it isn’t racist.

If a white fan on there had jumped up and shouted a player hadn’t been booked because they was black they’d be crucified.

And the white privileged thing comes across to me as racist too, how are we supposed to promote equality with that being said?

Everybody, regardless of skin colour / culture should have same level of respect and throwing around ‘white privilege’ isn’t particularly helpful in doing that.

Fingers crossed its the beginning of the end for that joke of a channel.

Robbie only actually accepting it was wrong after Harrys pulled their association says it all.

It may or may not be helpful but that doesn’t make it racist.

We should take this to the Racism thread. I’d like to be able to explain why I think you’re so mistaken about this without derailing the thread.
