Thats not happening though. IF Edourard leaves Celtic, it’ll be to somewhere where he would likely play every day. The only reason Milik looks to have had some movement recently off the no backup demand(although very conflicting repodfs about that) is that he dossnt have many other options. But again, he’d prefer to actually play which is fair enough.
We’ll sign Diallo, if he even wants to come, and be done with it. If he doesnt want to come then we’ll be on a desperate hunt for Josh King or Slimani after October 5th.
Is this a joke that I’m not getting?
Perhaps wishful thinking on the part of some?It gets thrown about a lot "Mourinho will walk if...". I think it intrinsically reveals the knowledge involved, as I don't think he's ever quit a job.

I think as time goes by it gets more and more obvious, unless Diallo wants to come, we’re not going to sign a striker.

That is true and managers rarely walk but seriously, why on earth would Jose walk at this juncture? It's not worth quitting for the obvious financial reasons.
A pay-off, even if it's just one year of his salary would be £10m or £14m (depending on different sources regarding what he earns). Irrespective of how wealthy he is, not sure anyone would walk away from that.I don't think he needs the money, but I'm sure "quitting" or "giving up" is heavily against his mentality. Probably why he looks like he lives in a dustbin when he gets to the very end of a job.
need a striker something we needed last season as well otherwise season could end up like last season it has to take priority over anything else
I hear you, pal. Agree that we seem to be leaving this one rather late. Which is especially irksome considering how important it would’ve been to have a proper backup to Kane with the glut of games we need to play before the October international break. The squad will be on their knees by oct 5. even if we get in a striker by 11pm on oct 5, (probably a lump like Deeney), it is a bit late. Just have to hope all those mins don’t lead to Kane breaking down. Indeed, selfishly speaking I hope Jose can persuade a few of our key players to perhaps forgo playing for their national teams that week and stay at the lodge. Unlike nearly every other team, our boys haven’t even had one full week of training all together, undisputed by games. Would be outstanding to have ten uninterrupted days of training for these boys before getting back into the grind.I think as time goes by it gets more and more obvious, unless Diallo wants to come, we’re not going to sign a striker.
I still find it hard to believe players win't hoin because they can't compete with Kane.
Jota know he is unlikely to play much with Mane, Salah and Firmino are firm first choices, yet he signed.
Aubameyang joined Arsenal when Lacazette was first choice.
Osimhen joined Napoli but they have several strikers already.
Maybe we could adapt to play 2 up front or being in a striker who can also play out wide.
As a broad statement it's untrue (that no-one will join because they "can't compete" with Kane). But there are at least two (Morata is one, I can't remember the other at the moment) who are actually on the record as having said they turned us down due to being concerned they wouldn't play when Kane was fit. I guess it's about levels - I don't think another "top" striker will join - but there are plenty we could sign that are unlikely to be universally accepted by fans.I still find it hard to believe players won't join because they can't compete with Kane.

he always leaves "by mutual consent". so he's never been fired either. It gets thrown about a lot "Mourinho will walk if...". I think it intrinsically reveals the knowledge involved, as I don't think he's ever quit a job.
