I think if we keep berba we will push the top four next season. Not only because he is world class but also because it will mean one less change to the starting XI that needs bedding in.

I think some of you dont realise what the loss of berba will do to the team. We wotn see another player of his calibre at the lane for a long time, and replacing him will be basically impossible. The rest of the team will be dampened too by the loss of our most gifted player.

Its essential we keep him at any cost imo!!!

We need to win one of the cups badly

I'd prefer we won one or both in style, but if it ends up like 1999, so be it.

Well said. Although we often see the flicks and skill that show Berbatov to be so much better than other players, its things like his ability to hold up the ball and link the play like he did as a lone striker against Man City when we had Zokora sent off in the cup that time that we'd miss as well. None of our other strikers can do this. The guy is quality and we must try to hold on to him for the good of the team.

We're still nowhere near 4 decent performances, only one win. fair tnough they are tough games, but i wanna see us turn over the likes of Boro, Villa, Birmingham, Blackburn etc.. home and away on a consistent basis, before we start talking about whether we're nearly there.

You can't really equate Boro and the Brummies with Villa and Blackburn.

There are promising signs, but some of us are getting a wee bit ahead of ourselves. This is a question best deferred until the end of next season.

Except we lost to Arse in last season's semi and beat them this season 5-1.

Also, we lost at home 4-0 to United last season and they only just snatched a draw from us this season.

On that basis, I disagree with you as it would seem we actually are a bit closer.

But they only snatched a win from us at Old trafford this season and were beaten by a Mendes goal the season before last. Ramos lost a comfortable 2-0 to chelsea but we won 2-1 and got a 3-3 draw last season... urm arseanl drew with us twice in the CC semi (they went onto win win extra time at home against an injury ravaged spurs after they'd yet again brought on thier big guns from the bench)

on that basis i disagree with you disagreeing with me and I say it's still the same amount of closeness.

If we beat chelsea on the 24th Ramos would have had two top bastard scalps in the same season, only then will he have jumped ahead and got us closer.
