There's been a lot written in various player threads RE: discipline, they're dumb as a bunch of rocks to sell them they're a liability etc.
So I'd thought I'd throw 5p in the jar, first there's been a huge increase in cards getting dished out this season, from the little I've seen as I refuse to fund Murdoch's empire and BT can do one too; I can't say if we're being treated worse/incompetently more so than any other club in the league. I can say the standard of officiating is at least as bad if not worse than before VAR was ever introduced.
To our players I'll pick the ones getting dug out;
Udogie, young player playing in a new league, new country in a entirely new role, deserves some slack.
Bissouma, playing a new role, being tasked with a different style entirely from Conte, can clearly play the role as shown by early season form, doesn't get a bye for new league or inexperience though.
As seen with other players recently going public with certain issues we don't know what or if it's issues off the pitch or form or a technical problem to be coached out of him be that technique or a tell that opponents now pick up on so he's easy to telegraph so draw him in for early fouls/bookings and have him walking a tightrope all match.
Romero; I think there's a certain amount that's just in him and to blunt that would be ineffective, the frustration is we've seen that he can play the tightrope extremely well but I think it's obvious he relies on players around him that he trusts 100% I think becoming a father helped but perhaps in a few games he's been hindered by some "late nights" or perhaps his son is up in the exec boxes and he gets over hyped to impress. The thing I don't know if we'll ever get out of him is clearly if he marks someone out on the opposition to leave something on then he doesn't forget; that's when in game the likes of Sonny, Ange etc need to pull him aside for 30 seconds or so and talk him down. Or if he's gonna do it be a lot cuter with it.*
TBH I think a number of these suspensions are creeping in due to lack of squad depth/injuries, being tasked with an aggressive full throttle style but without the rotation/substitutions to do it leads to mentally fatigued or tired players (even with no European fixtures) sure some of it's just brain farts but no doubt some it needs some couching finessing or acceptance we are going to play on the edge; if we're being kicked up in the air do the same if the ref's not going to, just be cute about it*
All my own opinions.
