I usually hate this guy but today he's tier 1 in my eyes....

There's also just a Sky vs Athletic claim and counterclaim race for clicks going on here though. That said, suggestions of them being "days behind" the story appear to be very wide of the mark.

Yeah they’ve obviously heard something in the last few minutes. Even that Gilmore bloke has almost done a 180 since he announced the news earlier. From announcing it as ‘all but done’, the whole Sky narrative has changed to ‘leaning towards staying’.

I’m thoroughly bored by it all.

If he goes that’s sad news but timing wise this is a shitshow and my biggest concern is how toxic the atmosphere is going to be at the ground this season (sky high prices and selling our biggest star).

I hope for the teams sake it isn’t but I can’t see anything else other than a totally hostile atmosphere

Do they even care if they're right or wrong at this stage though? All the twists and turns are good for them. It's like deadline day, keeps people clicking and tuning in to see what happens next.

Sky are just aggregating the news from Germany, and then also what their reporter is saying. Not sure what the problem is?
When the reporters both work for Sky (granted different countries) and one says 'the deal is close to being done' and the other says 'it is a long way from being done'

That’s on the supporters then. No matter what happens today, the players and Ange deserve support.

I think the argument is being the all-time greatest goal scorer in PL history is more of a significant legacy than winning a few German titles or even a CL trophy for that matter. When people talk about Alan Shearer, it’s always followed by his goal scoring record, not the fact that he won a league title with Blackburn.
Exactly... There's a lot of bang average/crap players that have league title medals.... It's a much more exclusive club being top PL goal scorer. And unless Haaland stays at city for a long time you'd think it'd take a while for someone else to break it if Kane broke shearer's record.

I think he's bonkers for even contemplating moving countries at this point in his life with a young family, being on the cusp of breaking a record at a place you're comfortable and the main man at. And to move to Germany of all places? Lol. Wtf are his wife and kids gonna do over there? Just so he can win a one team league title.

I think the fans will get behind Ange regardless

Hope we squeeze in 'special relationship' with Bayern like we did with Real Madrid after the Modric sale, that worked out great for us.

I really can't see Kane doing a 180 now a fee has been agreed. Especially as according to @What Lies Beneath it was the Kane camp who met with Bayern before asking Levy to speak with them to agree a deal. If the sale had been driven by us then he could turn it down but it's clearly been driven by Kane and his entourage.

Really? I hate the fact that everything has to turn hostile if we don't get what we want.

I remember us losing to Norwich at home because we had only signed moussa dembele. The atmosphere was toxic then. Ironically it was one of our best bits of business ever.

So winning a trophy with your “boyhood” club or winning the Bundesliga I know what I’d go for. Realistically the only league for me that outweighs my argument is La Liga.
But the probabilities are that hes choosing between winning no cups with us or multiple cups with Bayern, and a better chance at CL in the short to medium term also.

If anything the scales are tipped more heavily in their favour.

Two possibilities :
Either :
Levy is selling Kane as he doesnt want to lose him on free, regardless of Kane decision to stay this season

Or,

Bayern leaked the info after sending new bid that Levy asked for....but before Spurs & Kane family decided

In first case, why would Kane stay knowing Levy wanted him sold. In second case, why would he go to Bayern, knowing they are pressurizing him publicly
