I like this guy already.

It must take real strength of character at that age to admit to yourself that the club you've always dreamed of playing for doesn't want you any more, and to not only accept it straight away, but with open arms embrace the chance to play for a club in a different country that you'd barely even considered beforehand.

Seems like he really just wants to be somewhere he's loved, as corny as that sounds, and tbf it's a hell of a lot more likely here than it is at Barca.

He sounds so level headed and mature for a 22 year old. Hope we can show him the love he craves and becomes a world beater.

Hope him and Lucas develop a nice bromance, we could use having some danger on the right side of the pitch to make it harder to mark Son.

I really think the former La Liga players and Moura will help him settle fast. I think he'll prove very popular among fans with his attacking prowess. Unexpected but exciting signing.

Looks like he's close to Ilha Bela or the beaches around there in Sao Paulo. I imagine the club have allowed him to return to Brazil and enjoy time with his family before joining up as I can imagine it's been a bit of an unsettling moment for him - expecting to stay in Barcelona and then move on real short notice.

I watched a segment on YT of him returning to his favela in SP and he spoke of owing to the community and always giving back, so he seems to be a very humble person.
Absolutely, couldn't agree more, he's got to be crushed about what Barcelona did to him with only a couple of days notice so I'd be amazed if he didn't need to be with his family for a break, the least the club could do.

I wouldn't be surprised if the holiday was already organised before we signed him.

Emerson exit from Barca not the first time someone has had a phone call and told to go. In the BT Sport documentary Greavsie go to about 53 minutes in , Jimmy relates how he got a phone call from Bill Nicholson, Bill said I have Martin Peters in my office I want to sign him I want you to go to West Ham in part exchange , Bill added .... we no longer want you at the club your services are no longer required, that is Jinmmy's version of events so might not be exactly how it happened.

Interesting quotes. Confirms Para likes to talk detailed to clubs before the players. Think thats a bit weird?
More likely that we were already speaking to Barca re iliax moriba and Barca either they mentioned they needed him to move on or Fab asked who else was available. I imagine it was a quickly evolving situation so not much time to talk to the player. I wouldn't take this as an indication of how things usually go with Fab.

Have we ever not complained about RB?? Maybe Steve Carr was the last I dont remember us complaining about. Even Walker used to get plenty of stick.

Doherty - "All round poor"
Aurier - "Extra brain fart prone"
Trippier - "Cant defend & slow"
Walker - "Brain fart prone"
Hutton - "Generally awful"
Corluka - "Too slow"
Chimbonda - "Poor attitude"
Stalteri - "Slow & error prone"
Pamarot - "Worst RB we've ever had"
S.Kelly - "Not strong enough"
Taricco - "Error prone"

Even the top rated RBs at the moment like Trent-Alexander are not great at everything.

I'd be delighted if Emerson is just relatively solid and is able to deliver some decent crosses in the games that he is able to get forward in.
I’m sure Danny Thomas got stick but I thought he had everything. Potential to be a great full back

I'm probably asking too much here, but maybe just maybe this guy might actually turn up to training when he's supposed to, make himself available to play football games for us, and maybe even refrain from lying to the fans on social media and/or undermining the team, his boss, and his bosses' boss through BS media leeks!!

Talk about hitting the jackpot guys!!

Imagine if he actually comes in and fulfils the bare minimum of his contractual obligations!!

Will he have to isolate when he gets to England? Would have loved for him to get 5 days to prep for Palace on Saturday.

Argentina and Brazil are on the UK's red list, so would need to quarantine.
There was talks of the players heading to Croatia where they either wouldn't need to quarantine, or much lighter restrictions.

Means they could still do some training, before heading back to the UK (no quarantine)
