Tell you what we've had a terrific outgoings happen this season though haven't we. Looks like Aurier will shortly be joining that list.

I think possibly Winks is the only name that people universally wanted out along with the names that have moved on. He's staying so in terms of what happens on the pitch, I hope he comes good under the new manager and provides something and if that's simply a warm body on cold conference nights then that's fine by me.
Winks, Davies, Dier & Sanchez were the other contentious ones to my mind. Maybe they get a last roll of the dice… but then again I thought that 2 years ago. ?

For all the people in the "get a backup striker in at any cost no matter how shit" re: the Éduoard posts in here.. Have we all forgotten about Dane Scarlett? He's been in and around the first-team squad, on the bench in the league and starting ECL matches.

I'd much rather have a massive talent, homegrown no less, on the bench than Odsonne fucking Édouard at 15 million.

As I said in a different thread, this is why we can’t have nice things. Scarlett has a lot of development to do and Edouard is currently the better and more experienced striker imo (and I’ve seen a lot of him).

In the same way people were obsessing over Parrott the last few seasons, when it was clear that he needs a lot more development, I really hope we allow Dane to develop without the colossal pressure of stepping into Kane’s shoes due to injury.

For us to be in the same situation striker raise is truly reprehensible.

My take. Fab thinks he can get a better player/deal than Traore. Rather than let Nuno down he calls in the boss to put the Kybosh on the deal and maintain relations between Fab and Nuno.

Colombo GIF worthy.

31 minutes left to complete possibly my first ever un-banned Summer ITK thread.

Conflicted.

Yep, I’d say Winks and Doherty are the deadwood that’s left although N’dombele seems to be heading into that list as well unless he decides to pull his finger out.

I completely forgot about Doherty I won't lie. Yeah you know, Ndombele has had problems all summer and in my mind, I'm thinking okay this is the squad, clean slate for Ndombele, hope he comes good. So I think it'd be hypocritical if I didn't have the same mentality towards Winks and Doherty. I know their ability levels contrast significantly which does create some bias on why I'm rooting for Ndombele but yeah I'll be behind Winks and Doherty, even if it's just to provide rotation in europe.

I think Dier and Sanchez have played themselves out of the deadwood column for me for this summer but this really is the last season to show some consistency. Davies I'm a fan of as a good dependable, versatile pro. Great squad player and would only sell if he decided he wants first team football imo.

Scarlett may turn out to be the bee’s knees, but relying on a 17-year old kid as our back-up striker is quite a gamble IMO.

It took Kane years of not very successful loans before he set the world alight.

To be honest, the only real issue this window is the lack of striker but then, I don't know how the manager feels about this or how the club rate the Son and Scarlett situation. Maybe Nuno feels that's enough cover for the position?
Traore would've been fun but was a lot of money, for a position we didn't really need.

Defence was our biggest problem last season, which seems to have been addressed so yeah, I'm not too unhappy with the outcome.

Have we received any suggestion that Levy has interfered beyond vetoing an extremely high bid for Traore? Genuine question.

just checking in very briefly as just got engaged and i’m not sure SC would be high on her agenda this evening...

but am I assuming, without reading everything, no strengthening before the window ‘slams shut’?
