Spurs and VAR

If VAR continues to ruin games, ruin celebrating goals next season when we are allowed back in, I think I might give up my season tickets. It’s just destroyed the game. It’s fine if you are an armchair supporter but being at the games is awful. If it hasn’t improved I just can’t be bothered going to games. It ruins the spectacle.

Left me very fucking suspicious...

Very sketch. They made the decision within seconds of the VAR screen popping up and didn't even let us see how they came to the conclusion. I hate to think it's a conspiracy but there is some clear Spurs bias with these decisions.

It kind of felt like "well the linesman didn't flag, so let's not challenge it". Would love to see it again as just 'looked' offside in open play and considering the 1mm offside given against Kane it's a bit of a joke.

Another fucking disgraceful decision. Tierney just literally fiddled with the line until it was “offside”.

Just fuck off.
This is what I saw too - level = onside.
But putting aside that it is impossible to determine exactly when the pass was made from that shot or exactly where the defender's foot is, given that it is blurred and moving fast...put that aside...

then if this image is what we have to make the call on and the yellow line is drawn correctly... then if you zoom right in, the yellow line seems to chop off more of kane's toes than the defender's.

It is a very fine margin, 1cm maybe. The next frame or 2 might show him onside by 1cm.

It is hard to get too upset by this as in real time kane looked a mile offside and seemed to think he was offside himself. Pre-VAR there would not have been a debate about it.

Ok, that’s offside. But giving it is in no way in the spirit of the game. I’d rather be fucked over by an obvious offside against us than follow a sport that measures enjoyment like this.

Does anyone have the still of the var line for their 3rd goal? I turned off the tv as soon as I saw it was onside but would like to see it again as they came to the decision extremely quickly.

Until VAR is 100% accurate and isn’t relying on shit camera angles and any % of guesswork, it isn’t fit for purpose. I know Dier has a massive head but look at it from this fucking angle for Christ’s sake.

wtf they’ve clearly enlarged dier’s neck/head here

they are just desperate to go with the onside decision. Notice how the Lino didn’t flag for this one but did for kane’s

It’s getting to the point where I actually dislike football.

I feel the same.

Hopeless VAR desicions, Super league, ticket prices, more and more dodgy owners/takeovers etch.

The glory days of football is behind us imo, or maybe I'm just getting old...

We’re all getting old. And it’s getting shit. But Spurs do seem to be ahead in the ‘make football shit’ stakes. There’s nothing in it for us anymore.
