I don't think I've ever been more interested in the financials behind a potential deal more than this one. I just can't see how it can add up in our favour and still not piss off our high-earners.

How I view it is, apart from Kane, none of the other players should be anywhere near what Bale and Kane earn.

They can be pissed off all they like... achieve and deliver what they have done then you can earn 200k a week...

ESPNFC and TalkSport are both trash for transfer stories and should largely be ignored imo.

Tom Allnut I don't believe is trash and has a good track record.

Or... conversations have been going on for a couple of weeks and leaks gradually increase. Not everything is a conspiracy theory.
pfft and you probably think Oswald killed Kennedy alone and Diana was just in a simple car wreck...

Today is actually the first day since he left that I've had any optimism at all that we might complete a deal for Bale. I figured that we'd never pay up but it seems like there's a chance, however slim...

Anyone else noticed that off the back of a terrible performance the Levy PR machine has kicked in and now talksport espn and a few other places are talking aboutbhow we are talking to Madrid about Bale. Its obvious the club have leaked this to try and divert attention away from how poor will were and take the heat off them. This transfer has been bubbling away for a couple of weeks and only now is it being picked up

Not having a pop mate, but I think it would help if people occasionally take a step back from everything and not fall into this way of thinking.

Not everything is a conspiracy or has an ulterior motive or part of a dick dastardly master plan. It would make supporting spurs or enjoying football a lot easier.

Bale will always be linked to us. Madrid hasn’t worked out for him for a couple of years, the icon he is and his history with the club will always mean he will be linked with us. Just like links with Sheringham and to some extent modric always remained. Madrid will always offer him to us because of that. This isn’t some PR stunt. His name has been linked with us for the last week and we know talks have been ongoing.

I'm just hoping Crook was wrong about Hojbjerg cause of Southampton' shenanigans. He wasn't the only one who said it

Rumours are getting pace in the midia with Bale. Could a deal for us be edging closer or am i being too optimistic?

Not sure what the Mrs put in my coffee but I am very confident he will come back........then when whatever it is that was in my coffee wears off I will go back to the normal SC state of woe and sadness.

Quite simply if we don't push on massively HK is gone next Sumner. For me it's take a calculated risk now on Bale and a decent CF or that will be the reality.

Every transfer has an element of risk, and the time is running out on getting this one done. Bale preference is us, but they are speaking now to two other teams as well. The financial position is pretty much set and not likely to change regardless of what else happens, so a decision from DL is all that is required.
I wouldn't blame Kane for going at all. We need to rip the guts ( or lack of) out of this team and that is going to be the only way to do it.
