Interesting ITK, salt duly applied. Kim and a good RB obviously would be great. As for the striker, an acquisition of that magnitude would be surprising unless José would play that player with a Kane more often than not.

Waiting for the moment when Dragon realise the fact we didn't paid 42m but 60m eur(55m gbp) for Ndombele

Waiting for the moment A&C comes in and sees all the Guess Who stuff in here, gonna be fun.

It's a shame TN spell is going to end like this, the guy has some real talent, too bad it does not come with the head.

If Levy can get Wilson for £10m do we really think he’ll drop £50m on a striker?

we need to get a move on anyway, our 32 games in 21 days starts in just over two weeks!

Edit - for those missing the irony above i was just suggesitng it would be nice to have some new players in before the season starts and we have PL, Europa and CC on the go (y)

Hopefully Calvert-Lewin, I like him as a Centre Forward, but would he be worth as much as £50m?

I didn't want to start a guessing game but that would be my thought too. I'm sure he used to play wide with Richarlison in the middle a season or two ago. It reminds me a bit of when jose had Gudjohnsen at Chelsea, i'm sure he was half wide and half central. Equally didn't that happen with Anelka to some degree but not sure if that was Jose era?

Again didn't want to start a guessing game in this thread but very few other options that would be worth the money given age or profile (e.g. JRod)

Jose loves rakatic

For years I’ve wanted Rakitić...his vision, passing, movement—gliding through defenses to deliver the perfect ball. I don’t have many kits but I’ve got a Crotia one with his name on it.

But after his last season and in our financial situation? No way. As sad as it is, the 32 y/o is declining quickly and at the cost of £232,000/wk. Any team on our level (which isn’t as high as it used to be!) and isn’t part of his past would be a fool to pay even half of those wages for what you’ll get in 20/21 and it’s only going to get worse.

I was concerned when we hired JM that he’d primarily want us to spend on “veterans” and aside from Joe we largely haven’t done that. Don’t get me wrong, experience and “winning mentalities” are a good thing, but Ivan ain’t it.

50m for Ings or Jimenez at 28/29? Just can't be true.

Jimenez is a very Mourinho-like player and I would love him, but not at 50m.

Agreed.

Kane does like to drop in a bit so perhaps that does facilitate a striker getting minutes alongside him regularly. Presuming Wilson is a bit of a fallback (hopefully not left waiting too long) with players with a bit more potential being considered. Not sure the money will work though but who knows. Definitely a few more bumps in the road ahead through this window.

I find it incredibly difficult to align that dragon1 info with everything else we've heard in the window. A few weeks ago, we were looking at Wilson and Deeney as backup forwards, now we've jumped up to a £50m backup striker? I don't think there's a single striker in the league, that we don't already have, that is worth £50m in this current climate. Less so when you convert it into Levy dollars.

Money is tight, Mourinho is identifying reasonable, attainable targets in positions we are clearly weak in, but we've gone back in for Bale again?

We're happy to let Ndombele go, but apparently have no desire to replace his intended role in the squad, a role we're in desperate need of?

None of it makes sense.

Wouldn't surprise me if the £50m figure was transfer + contract rolled into one. Calvert-Lewin for £30m on a 5 year contract of £80k a week would add up.

Salt, sprinkle it liberally and enjoy.

I guess it could be DCL. Wouldn't mind that at all as he can also play out wide. A bit like King in that sense - other than King would be a lot cheaper (older as well of course).

Midfield is a concern, but at least we got one more body than we in reality had last year. And if Gedson can play it might still work.

Some strange info from Dragon1.

I just cannot see us spending 50 m £ on a (primarily) back-up striker, even if we recoup what we paid for TN. The only thing that would make this somewhat probable, would be a formation switch to a two-striker system. Even then, Son would be the obvious candidate to play with HK.

I'd really hate if we signed someone like Rakitic or any other over-the-hill player from one of the top clubs. They'd be on massive wages, and be impossible to shift again.

2 people agree that we're going to complete almost a full season in 3 weeks :cautious:

One comment on the Dragon stuff, draw your own conclusions.

He hardly posted any ITK for years, he got into a big argument with someone on FTL and quit. He reappeared on COYS (where I thought he was banned, how did he convince them to let him back..?) and now regularly has a ton of ITK again.
