If we got all of our money back on Ndombele, which simply wouldn't happen, it would be ridiculous to drop the whole lot on a back up striker.

Paying 50 million for either Jiminez, Calvert-Lewin or Ings, seems insane when Depay has just a year left on his contract.

I don't understand why D1 suddenly decided to mention it. You'd have thought something as big as selling NDombele and using the money on an expensive strikers would have been the biggest news he had, yet he only says it after several ITK's reveal we are prepared to sell Tanguy. I guess he got an update at midnight on Sunday.

Listen the ITK makes perfect sense, we need a 50 mill striker as that coincides with Ndombele probably leaving and Kane now having to step up as playmaker being the most creative passer on the team

That's a good point.

People want a backup striker. But they don't want another Janssen (a gamble on a player without top-level experience) or another Llorente (experienced player with plenty to offer, but not at his peak and no resell value), and now don't want to spend big money either. Sounds like an impossible ask to me.

I find dropping £50m on a striker hard to believe, especially if the idea and hope is for Parrott to have a good season at Millwall and then he is primed for that role season 21/22.

Appreciate the sharing of the ITK as always but the striker information is hard to fathom.

If we’re trying to balance the squad we should have more than 1 RB and a striker in before the season starts. Seems like more same old same old

Really can’t see us spending 50 mill on a striker who more than often will be on the bench doesn’t make sense
I’m sure at least one of the ITKS said Mourinho wants another striker to play alongside Kane, not as a sub or backup. Can’t remember who or when though!

It’s not that people don’t want that, it’s that we know it’s not going to happen and it is absolutely ridiculous to even suggest we’d spend that much on a striker in the current climate.

I appreciate the shared information, can't see for a minute that we are spending 50m on any player, and surely not on a back up striker.

If we are trying to balance the squad I would have thought that £50mil would be better spent on a sub striker AND a centre mid

I honestly would’ve thought Wilson and sabitzer would be more what DL and JM are trying to achieve based off previous ITK

It’s not gonna be Calvert-Lewin who signed a new contract a few months back until 2025. And he’s never been worth 50 million!

For me the test is simple: Does he cost anywhere near £50m? If yes; no.

There's always this thing with us of being stingy then splurging on luxuries we don't actually need.

I can’t think of any striker/No9 at a non top 4 club worth £50m in the current financial situation. I don’t want to overpay for mediocrity.

Edit: Aubameyang - but he’s London based.
