The thing that alarmed me in the second half was how easily they cut through our midfield.

We play some nice stuff in the first half but lacked cutting edge.

Was really disappointed with our mentality in the second half, we created virtually nothing.

I just didn't like the way we conpteted for the second ball, too weak. And them playing away in Europe on Thursday night ffs.

You can see the quality in Lo Celso but he needs to act quicker, sometimes wants too much time. That's the difference between la liga and the Prem but he'll be a big player for us next season.

Overall we played better, in spells, than we've seen in recent weeks but second half was really disappointing after starting well.

Deserved a little more
after the first half performance
but Wolves do not give up easily
even going 2-1 down
on the stroke of half time
didn't faze them.

Another game
where we showed quality
but not for the whole game.

Some good signs
but not for this season.

Jose taking the piss
with Parrott
on in extra time.

Defensively, we look scared shitless constantly. It’s not helped by the fact, teams can play one pass and they’re bearing down on our CBs. The shape is killing us and our full backs are really average defensively.

Still can’t believe that we didn’t even have a go last fifteen. Just fannied around and didn’t give it a good go. Same with Chelsea last week.

This season is taking years off my life.

WTF?!?!

All we did was attack in the last 15 minutes.

Me boycotting the club I’m more than happy to make a stand , but we have to do as a collective in our thousands to have your voice heard. But the happy clappers will just put up with Levy’s shit and say got a great stadium and training ground blah blah blah.
You should boycott SC, that'll show 'em!

Agree with this.

Apart from a couple of costly mistakes at the back I thought today was one of our most coherent performances under Jose. We pressed well, passed the ball and kept possession well. Lacked cutting edge at vital times but that was to be expected with Son/Kane missing.

I've been critical of most of our performances under Jose but today actually gave me a bit of hope we could have a decent end to the season. Think if we bring Lloris and Toby back in I would keep this shape for the remaining matches.

Exactly. Thanks for posting that because I know you’re not exactly one of Mourinho’s biggest fans but that’s exactly how I saw it. I’m not sure how anyone can say any different to be fair. If they do then it’s just an agenda clouding their actual views of how today went.

Obviously this group needs rebuilt. Levy not getting rid of deadwood and going 18 months without fresh blood destroyed it. The real problem is..... Does anyone really want Jose in charge of this rebuild? It's too late anyway now, but I think it's going to get quite nasty between him and Levy over summer. Which of them are going to change their spots? Is Levy going to finally give a manager what he wants, even though it will cost a lot? Will Jose, who has played the same type of football his whole career and has never really had a philosophy of growing and developing young players, suddenly change if he doesn't get the players he wants?

This season obviously has sucked but I actually worry about next few seasons more, especially because our best player is almost 27 and constantly injured, and our second best player will be 28 next season.

jm will do what he always does. Leave under a cloud with a big bag of loot.

I'm right behind Jose but second half was really poor imo.

Go to the Jose thread...mind boggling stuff in there.

I was at the game and was surprised how well we played first 25 minutes . On top but they still looked dangerous on break. We tended to keep shooting ourselves in the foot . I was disappointed we didn’t takeover in the last 15 minutes. Overall there are promising signs but we just need to tighten up defensively . Also a striker would be useful !

Firstly, Poch got the sack, he didn't 'leave' us!

Secondly, when he knew which players needed to be moved on and Levy basically priced them out of any interest or refused to sell, there's not much blame you can lay on Poch there!

Thirdly, Poch knew which players he wanted in and, once again, up steps Levy and denies him the opportunity to bring them in!

Finally, we end up with fucking Maureen!!

It was my term of phrase, the squad he left us with not that he left.

In terms on your other points that’s down to debate as ITK on here has stated Poch turned down a number of decent players during his tenure, so we’ll probably never know if the squad staleness was down to Levy or Poch although probably a combination of both (which is what I said in my original post).

You are right about Levy other pricing deadwood though as we really should have been trimming likes of Rose, Wanyama, Dier etc and it does seem from outside perspective that we try to get too much for players at times. On the other hand we have managed to squeeze some good amounts out of buyers but this could be to the detriment of just moving players on and refreshing their positions.

It also depends on if they wanted to go at time as you can’t make them leave and at start of this season we were talking of title push so we’re a good club to be at.

Jose is inflexible in his approach and cannot set up a team if they are not his type of players. He might get it right after 2 or 3 windows unfortunately most of us will have lost our shit by then.
