At what point during that entire post did I say I excuse City's owners?

I went out of my way to say I in no way excuse them.

I was just making the point on how the club was run.

The people who run the club are doing it on illgotten gains.

I suppose that we should have Brian Kidd prosecuted for acts against humanity should we?

Be serious.
You wrote the following,
But from what I understand City's owners have invested heavily in the local community and have done a fair bit to help the underprivileged in the area. They have also been relatively pragmatic in building their squad.
which in my books is excusing them. If you didn't mean it as an excuse then I apologise for the interpretation, but those things are exactly what Abu Dhabi want you to focus on, they are the distractions to keep us occupied away from the truth about them and their wealth.

Look at the (sort of) comeuppance Abramovich has received, not being allowed into the country, having trouble with getting permissions to build a stadium, and so on. Had he invested more into the club and the area instead of just the squad of players, and tried harder to portray himself as a "good guy", would the same still have happened? Possibly not.

And I in no way would have Brian Kidd or any other staffer prosecuted for anything Abu Dhabi does. They take their salary, which can be morally questioned but there was a football club there before Abu Dhabi and there will be one after they sell too.

Anyway, this isn't the right thread to go into deep debate (this is), so I think I'll leave the Grammar thread alone now.

Robbie on AFTV is asking everyone if they would prefer Tottenham to win the CL and they win Europa or that both win nothing. They are all saying they prefer both to win nothing. Shows how small minded and obsessed with us they are. They would prefer to stay in the Europa.
In the unlikely event of the situations being reversed how would we vote ? I’m more interested in us being in CL than what they do....
Hopefully we win and they lose to really make their summers .

Noticed he calls it the Europa League. Hahahahaha

Why the neg @worcestersauce? Legend has it that he made his main bundle by shorting the £... sure OK... But that doesnt mean he intentionally or expressly ruined anyone. He made a bet, it worked for him. ?‍♂️
Sorry Geyzer didn't know I had must have been my thumb doing it's own thing.
For the record I don't do neg reps, lifes too short so if anyone gets one it's probbaly a mistake, unless one of you gits has really pissed me off bad enough in which case a neg rep is the least of your troubles......:cautious:

Nobody calls it that. It’s like saying Master Cuthbert Braithwaite to make someone sound more like portent than they are.
Granted I don't talk much about that competition, but everyone I know (who are into football) calls it that.

It was, but looking at the Game (part of the Times) you do have to wonder why Liverpool are on the fucking front page and not City.

That defies belief really lol.
On the BBC yesterday morning it went something like, Liverpool can win the title by winning against Wolves if Man City don't beat Brighton, over to clip from Pep Gardiola press conference the bit where he talks about Liverpool then over to jurgen Klopp talking about Liverpool.

Hmm everyone I know refers to it as the Europa League.

I did chuckle at how their semi final win and Aubameyang's hat trick kept being referred to as a 'European semi/HT' rather than Europa League, almost like they were masking that it was in the 2nd tier competition.

I think they'd have done that whoever was second given the number of points etc that they achieved which was, if one can look at it without the scousehating tinted glasses on for a moment, a pretty amazing 2nd place, in this instance it just happened to be Liverpool.
Had Liverpool won it from City the only narrative would’ve been the epic come from behind triumph over the old champions. City wouldn’t have been a patronising “great” second place.

Liverpool St station after the game yesterday, I witnessed a group of around 6 teenagers, must’ve been about 16 yrs old. A spurs fan walked past them and one of the group (let’s call him Dave) started singing ‘we scored the first goal, in your shithole, we scored the first goal, in your shithole’. So I figured they were West Ham fans. Except one of Dave’s mates then punched Dave straight in the face, bringing a reasonably loud cheer from passer by’s and causing Dave to aggressively rant at his mate whilst simultaneously trying not to cry. The Spurs fan just carried on walking past and was laughing at what he’d just seen.

Then a massive black guy who must’ve been about 6ft 10 carrying a child in his arm walked up to them all and said pretty much word for word ‘firstly, you didn’t score the first goal there, we did, and secondly, is it really a shithole though? Is it? Sing shit songs, get punched in the face mate’. And then he just walked back to the bench he was sitting on. Glorious.

It was so surreal. I can only assume Dave’s mate was a Spurs fan who had just had enough of Dave’s shit. Then the way Dave looked at the 6ft 10” guy was beautiful. Pure, genuine fear in his eyes.

Some random guy in a Spurs scarf then went up to Dave’s mate and high fived him. Dave kept his mouth shut. Dave learnt his lesson.

Typical really, we’re playing Everton and it’s a West Ham fan causing all the shit.
Calling @Rocksuperstar , were you the big guy?:cautious:
