How can this be spun anyway other than he wants the money to compete, he literally talks about what they've spent and says we need to operate like them and other big clubs. There is no other way or hidden meaning that this can be interpreted.

I imagine he has already had conversations with Levy considering how honest he has been.

Yep, we've now got everything in place to be a big, competitive club...apart from the players.
Will Levy back the club on that front? I really hope so.

Definitely. Poch ain't someone who runs off to the media without saying it to the person's face first.

I think he's basically had enough of missing out on the primary targets because levy won't budge on agent fees or whatever. It's a wake up call as much as an ultimatum, big clubs don't baulk at fees for their main targets they move mountains to get em. You say we will be one of the world's biggest then start behaving like it where it truly counts.

Asked whether this would be a big summer, Pochettino said: “It’s going to be massive.”
The biggest? “Yes.”

Or back, sack and crack me. Which scares me.

Seriously though if Levy doesnt spend big Kane, Alli and Lloris (dgt) will leave and we'll be really struggling.
You just cannot afford to think like that when you have a mahoosive stadium.
We need to go to the next level or the whole thing is a waste of time and investment.
A half empty 62000 stadium doesnt bare thinking about.
Christ it'll be like the emptycrates.

How sad it would be if Poch (who seems like a genuinely classy man) would not be able to manage the team he has brought to three straight CL campaigns during the first full season that team is in the new stadium? I believe Poch himself would be more devastated that most of us fans as he seems to truly love the club, yet I am guessing he has reached his limit where he knows and accepts that he can do no more at Tottenham unless Levy spends money. I don't think any fans would begrudge him. I cant believe he wants to leave - it sounds like it will almost be more of a "I have no choice" decision.

Really really hope this doesn't happen as I don't think we will see CL for a long time if he leaves. Kane, Alli, and Son among others will be gone as well and us slipping to mid-table isn't out of the question, even with an amazing stadium.

The thing is there is no other step to take now.
Facilities - check
Stadium - check
Income - should be rolling in ( ok not in an oil/slave money way)

The only step now is to match that on the pitch. Otherwise what's the point?!

It’s all very well getting excited about Poch’s quotes but nobody knows the bottom line on the spreadsheet but Levy, and how the stadium costs are constricting us.

I hope there is significant funds available, but I wouldn’t count on it.

I couldn't be happier with these quotes. I hate mealy-mouthed, non-committal answers to questions from the media, and it's lovely to hear Poch state unambiguously what he wants to see happen at Tottenham. It's the same as what I want to see happen; making the absolute focus of every aspect of the club geared to getting a successful team playing in our colours on the pitch.

He wants it, the fans want it - now it's over to Levy to see if he wants to do what's necessary to be successful on the pitch as much as Pochettino and the fans do.

I wouldn't bet on you being wrong. But at least we will know for 100% sure where the bottleneck is in that case, and we'll be able to adjust our actions as fans accordingly.

It's as clear as day what Poch means, lets start spending like the big boys. If we don't, he's off.

I just hope Levy finally starts opening the wallet up properly but I have to say I am not optimistic, how could we be? he's never ever done it before.

How much would it cost to:

- Sell and replace the fullbacks. All of them. It hasn't worked in two years.
- Buy a box to box CM and a DM. And quality players. No more Jack Grealishes.
- Replace Eriksen with a player of equivalent quality if he leaves.

A shit ton of money. That's what it will take to be competitive. I don't see us spending that much but I live in hope.

It'll be interesting to see how the BSoDL spin these particular quotes if Levy doesn't splash some cash in the summer.

Someone refresh my recollection - didn't we have this exact conversation heading into last summer? Poch sending signals that Levy better spend money?

And, didn't we have similar conversations headed into the winter window?

Don't think it was anything quite as definitive as this.
