Also I'm infuriated by some people who support Archway based on some left-wing rhetoric about 'not being pushed around by a large corporation'. Central to all left-wing politics is the notion of individual sacrifice for the greater good and/or the idea that the needs of the many outwight the needs of the few. How on earth can anyone reconcile those ideals with what Archway are doing? They're screwing an entire area out of redevelopment (which the rest of the area is already committed to) because they want the big bad large corporation (which is the main source of revenue for the area) to fund their early retirement.

There is only one word to describe these people and its banned on here.

Definitely agree there. Politically I'm very left wing but even I can see this is bloody ridiculous. Not to mention all the small businesses reliant on the club who will now miss out on a year's revenue because we have to leave thanks to the whole project being delayed by one greedy company. There really should be a much quicker process for dealing with this.

As I walked down the High Road ahead of the game against QPR, I looked towards the stadium, and the land to the east of Worcester Avenue. Demolition all around. The foundations being prepared. Rubble cleared and fenced off. The stadium is going to happen, and the only people who can't seem to see it is Archway.

I believe, that they have a right to get a fair value on their business. Money towards relocating to a satisfactory location, and the costs to cover charges, loss of income, compensation and a substantial goodwill gesture. This, I am sure, will have been prepared by financial advisers and lawyers, paid for by the club who, given their status as a global brand and Premier League Football Club, has a responsibility to act accordingly, and in line with law and legislation.

So, this hold up is down to one of two reasons. Either the club and its representatives have scandalously undervalued Archway Steel and elected to proceeded with the lengthy and time consuming process of issuing a CPO, to save money, as they believed they would win, or Archway Steel are being greedy stubborn bastards, who should just FUCKING MOVE!

Think of the revenue that all of the other businesses on Tottenham High Road are going to miss out because of these T0$$ers. All the take aways, off licenses, and pubs (Whats left) are going to be losing millions!!!

Why is everything so difficult with our club?!

Bad luck. The people that we just need to buy out, turn out to be irrational business owners. You can't reason with people like this, so we have to jump through as many hoops as possible in order to get this build through! At least I'll be able to afford a season ticket by the time the new stadium is built.

Their valuation would of been clearly overvalued. Why would any sane businessmen cave in then? Just be patient. It will happen. VDV is no longer the player he once was, he has severely declined in the past year.

Bet Archway are really popular at the moment with all the shops that make a fortune on match days.

I can see a lot of these shops going bust when we move out for a season, hope Archway are proud and happy with themselves.

Damn it, must have missed this bit of news.

What did ENIC offer and what do Archway want?

But surely every year that passes we are losing millions!!!!!!

It will be 10 years at the erarliest after the initial plans were put forwards.

That is just not right?!

Re: Arsenal. 4 years it took them from plans to a spade in the grounds.

We are either the most unlucly club in the land or some very poor decisions have been made

The latest news really isn't a surprise to any of us who've followed this thread over the recent months now is it?

Damn annoying obviously. I'm not going to MK that's for sure.

At least with this delay we will have more time to design something better than the Emirates with blue seats!

Trying to see the positives here.

Hey Peter, I know you stalk these forums and specifically this thread and screen shot posts so people feel bad for you since you get hate here. Well guess what you fucking schmuck, all the hate is deserved. You're screwing an entire area out of a much needed redevelopment to fund your early retirement. You're taking Tottenham hostage for you're own benefit when the big bad corporation is trying to fucking help the area. So to you, I say, shame on you, you should be embarrassed, and forced to explain to the area and all the business owners who rely on THFC matchdays to survive why you're doing this. Even though they already know why. You are fucking **** of the highest order.

I think we would have faced the same issue if VDV was still with us...;)

Seriously, though, those who want to question ENIC's decision making go for it. The way I see it is that 70 businesses have all moved, been relocated without a fuss so it's clear that ENIC aren't scrimping to ensure a business as usual approach for them.

If we offered over the odds to Archway because of their greed, surely THFC could then be opening a whole can of worms regarding valuations of the businesses that have already moved.

I firmly believe Archway are the ****s in this tug of war, knowing that ENIC/THFC have to play it by the book or risk everything, hoping to line their own pockets.

Would love to know how they can afford all the legal stuff...what sort of turnover does the company make??

There must be several business owners on the High Road who rely on the trade generated by the 25+ matchdays per season to survive.

How must they be feeling now, knowing that the future of their businesses could be in real jeopardy due to Archway's determination to squeeze every last penny out of THFC?
Thought exactly the same and think the wording of the statement was perfectly written to highlight this. Anyone unhappy at Spurs leaving the area knows exactly where to direct their frustrations. Danny may have always fancied the ideaof moving away for a bit for cost reasons and this now gives him an easy get-off.

I think there was ITK that said that Archway Steel wanted £5m, one for each of the siblings. ENIC are not at fault here.
