For fuck sake. How much did the bellends want in the first place? Although I wouldn't want to be held to ransom, this means at least another 4 years of trailing our rivals Giving them what the wanted (or close to it) 3/4 years ago would have been the best signing we would have made in 20 years

I'm not sure. I think he'll stand firm, knowing that he will win this eventually. Little Danny is not a man to throw good money after bad.

I suspect that is not an answer you or I want to hear....

Not sure about 'good money after bad' tbh. None us actually know the size of the offer made to Archway and what has been talked about via lawyers or even off the record. Now we get into the nuts and bolts of the poker game, but I really honestly believe a compromise will be found. It is way too big a project to be held up much longer by this crap.

Well it is not good but on the plus side: A few more years of WHL, one of the few stadiums left with a soul. I love going there who knows in what sot of bowl we end in.

We're going to end up at MK dons, aren't we?

I don't see how any other option is viable really

Nothing changes on that front, other than it happening later. Would likely have hapenned 2016/17 season for a year or two, now won't happen until 2018/19. We're going to have to ground-share somewhere, regardless of when construction eventually gets underway.

As I have said before, I genuinely don't think it is about money with Archway and putting a few more zero's on the cheque. I think its a case where logic/reason long flew out the window, they simply don't want to move (especially being 'forced' out by a bigger entity) and on a point of principle will fight this until the very end.

Who is paying for all the legal stuff though, fuck knows.

Archway know they're the last hurdle, and are hoping Daniel is willing to pay for their retirement, out of desperation to get the build started. I imagine, Levy won't be held to ransom and this will drag til Archway have nowhere left to turn and end up with the same or less than they could have had earlier.

One silver lining is, an extra few transfer windows to pay off the rest of the stadium! :bored:

Surely they will end up with nothing ? The High Court challenge must be coming out of their pocket, I imagine its a hugely costly process. Just seems like madness to me absolute madness.

They must be getting outside help

Arsenal themselves or a super wealthy gooner who wants to fuck with us and doesn't mind losing a few million

I'd honestly rather see Ipswich. Only slightly smaller than WHL and similar journey for many from Liverpool Street. Or Brighton, just for fun. Heck, Upton Park would suffice. Just not MK :(

Really have you checked on the amount of trains back from Ipswich on a Saturday or midweek.

There must be several business owners on the High Road who rely on the trade generated by the 25+ matchdays per season to survive.

How must they be feeling now, knowing that the future of their businesses could be in real jeopardy due to Archway's determination to squeeze every last penny out of THFC?

The only reason this hasn't turned nasty with the company and the Josef family being targeted by vandals or worse (as far as I'm aware) is that nobody wants to jeopardise the club's chances of winning the legal battle. Once this is (eventually) resolved, the company will need to change their name when they do relocate otherwise they genuinely might not be safe.

Which is another reason why their fight is becoming futile and just a huge nuisance - even in the unlikely event that they win, could they really stay where they are?

Also I'm infuriated by some people who support Archway based on some left-wing rhetoric about 'not being pushed around by a large corporation'. Central to all left-wing politics is the notion of individual sacrifice for the greater good and/or the idea that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. How on earth can anyone reconcile those ideals with what Archway are doing? They're screwing an entire area out of redevelopment (which the rest of the area is already committed to) because they want the big bad large corporation (which is the main source of revenue for the area) to fund their early retirement.

There is only one word to describe these people and its banned on here.

I really don't think they want to win the appeal (or are even interested in continuing the business) IMO the plan is to just keep dragging it out as long as possible in the hope that we'll give in and just give them a lottery size payoff
