Just out of interest how this the foundations the significant cost of the project? The stadium is on a raised podium. Other than piling for the major structural elements above it there's no other great percentage of cost down there. There's no lower levels, no retaining walls, no dewatering. This is unless there has been a significant design change to the lower level of the stadium since the submission to Haringey.

The OS there is. Over 200 rooms, including warm up areas and changing rooms. All the electrics, plumbing etc... the stadium on top as Levy said only cost £80m.

For Spurs, land rights and foundational work would have been worth somewhere around £150-200 million. Hence, my earlier comment in the WHam thread that the authorities should have tried selling it.

When does everyone think we will see the new plans?

Surely the club aren't going to use the mock ups from 6 years ago?

It's out of date now. Crappy generic emirates style bowl with blue seats.

Surely we will see more exciting plans?!

I wouldn't expect a significant redesign at this stage. If the exterior envelope of the stadium is changed in any material way, that will require a fresh planning application, which would derail, or at least put at risk, the last 1-2 years of detailed design work. It would also incur an indeterminate delay, which could be 3-4 months, but would more likely be over a year.

I would imagine that any increase in capacity will be engineered within the original shell, in order to minimise planning delays and duplication of design work.

If we build the current plans I will be very disappointed. It's 6 years out of date and smacks of an Emirates mark 2. Didn't like it when they released it in 2008 and hate it now. Where's the originality ?! We need and deserve something better and iconic.

Except for the Park Lane!
I certainly prefer the idea of a single roof high wall of home support.
1 tier certainly will be visually striking,
but with the standard high wispy roof on top of the bowl, as shown,
I don't see why a 1 tier arrangement will produce any more noise than a 3 tier stand which will hold more fans. What have I missed?

I understand it to be a single iconic tier from floor to ceiling as the home fans area, somewhere demonstrably different and special that will attract fans who give the most vocal support, as kops do, not just the same as the rest in two or three tiers which would make it, well, just an end.

You forgot to say ENIC out.

I'm pretty sure there will be new plans.

Well, that's what the ITK suggests. It's not suddenly going to be a new shape though...

Has it occurred to those that dislike the design that that might just be the best way to build a stadium? It's already been discussed at length about how the "bowl" shape optimises sight lines - perhaps the "waves" are part of that as well.

The board deserve to have our faith put in them on this - their other major infrastructure project was the training ground which is one of the best facilities in the world. Surely that gains some confidence?

I hope the new plans have some contingency for the possibility of a standing area.

Imagine the noise a single tier stand behind the goal similar to Dortmund would create.

We would be the envy of the country

you're assuming nothing has changed from 2008(?) when the plans were first released. the club as far as i know haven't released/said anything since then with regards to the design or even capacity of the stadium. the training ground is fresh and belongs in 2014, we need more of that, not a blue emirates.

North londdon is a marsh. Any large structure will have pilling & a raft slab. The raft slab can be over 2m thick and reinforced with steel. On a few projects I've done in Docklands and the city the cost of the concrete foundations is far higher than the concrete in the cores and on the steel decking.

The heavier the structure and more it displaces the thicker the raft. Rule of thumb, I'm not a structural or geotechnical engineer

So I know I tried this before but is it actually CPO appeal deadline day today?

CPO Notice published on July 30th which I make exactly 6 weeks. Might we finally hear of some progress?

What do you want?

All I will say is please, for the love of my sanity, don't say anyone has copied the scum. Those fuckers copied benfica almost brick by brick.

It was mentioned in the last number of pages somewhere that the deadline we think is tomorrow (11th). The latest was that the club probably expected an appeal. Clock is certainly clicking now.

Given that it is a football stadium and therefore is bound to resemble other football stadiums to some extent I don't think the pictures and plans of our are like the emirates very much at all.

I totally agree. If people want something different to theirs, perhaps we should build a sky scraper, or a bridge, or an international space station.

But none of the above can have seats in them as that'll be copying the scum.

Arsenal are like Apple. They make something lots of people already have, then take credit for somehow inventing it.
