What I said..; 'Just highlighting that there could have been naivety from our side this time'. Notice the word 'COULD'- hypotheticals, the same thing that everyone on this board works from. I'm not getting into a discussion on an internet forum on who has held higher positions etc, and given that I usually respect your postings etc I feel you're being a bit fucking ridiculous at the moment. But whatever, this now gone into the realms of definitely having nothing to do with ITK.

I will say though, it is not difficult to comprehend that even intelligent, experienced business people make naive mistakes sometimes-it's happened before and will happen again.

But on the other hand no mistakes may have been made.

The other parties may have not agreed any form of exclusivity clause - so we had a choice of walking away or proceeding but knowing that until a conytract was signed we could be gazumped.

We could have decided to get a medical done in parallel with agreeing personal terms - it could be that the other side refused to sign a contract 'subject to a medical' so doing things in parallel is smart rather than naive.

Point is, we don't know, so making you post all about Spurs naivity (with a could have been in front) is maybe a bit OTT

But I disagree with your point of view as I don't think it's based on sound reasoning - which is why I picked it up.

It could be because Levy is actually a massive racist and when he met him, he was like "HELL NO". It could be that. But it isn't.

I know you're trying to analyse the fuck out of it, and why wouldn't you - and I'm not getting my cock out with you over "whose got the better job", but in my dealings with successful businessman (for which Levy is), I always note that they know their stuff. They don't get pantsdowned like this because they were a bit naive. We've been fairly ****ed over by Joorab****face.

After the Campbell and Berbatov affairs I think Levy's fairly hardened. And what your saying simply doesn't stack up given the transactions that have been reported we have been involved in in the last 10 years.

Sorry, naivety isn't the one; simply because the inference - whether intended or not - is that you know better. And we (me, you, the rest of us) don't.

Obvs love you, fellow Spurs fan. But I disagree with you.

Not at the price quoted. It was a huge risk.
I think we would of taken the risk as of now if he was still at AM.

I'd fathom the reason we didn't rival Shakhtar is because the intention back then was genuinely for Bale to stay and our transfer strategy was different.

Finding an alternative to Lamela would be far harder than Willian.
Lets hope he, his agents and Roma are a lot more professional than what we've experienced with Willian.

Eriksen: Really the only one who is attainable, in my view. Ajax are reasonable and will sell him, but the issue is whether he would want to join us. He can stay at Ajax, where he's happy, and engineer a move to a Champions League club for next summer. Ajax also know we are desperate, and will likely want more money than many here think (I would guess at least 12 million pounds, may more).

I'm sure Vertonghen would tell him what a superb move it would be for him. How the Premiership will make him a better player, what a great club it is to be at, what a great bunch of lads etc etc. So I'm pretty sure he would come, if a bid was accepted. I don't have any doubts about him making the step up to the Premiership. Even if he didn't work out, he's a big name young player and we would easily be able to recoup our money from clubs around Europe. To European clubs it would just appear as 'he wasn't suited to the Premiership' and he would still be viewed as a big talent. I really hope we bid for him, now that shitbag Willian has fallen through. I'm sure we'd get him for 15m, which would give us another 15m from what we were going to spend on Willian, to play with (centre back). Not to mention the rest of our nicely, inflated transfer budget.

Coentro, Eriksen, Lamela added to what we already have brought in - would be superb business.

I'm a bit dis-heartened after today's events, but excited to see who we switch our attention to now. We have BIG money to spend, so it's not like we're gonna get another Dempsey or Frazer Campbell - it will be a big name, and money (which we have) talks (as we saw today :( ).

I have a feeling that this is games to raise the price. We go cool for a week and i'm sure they'll be back at our door asking if we are still interested - at which point we say yes, but for £5m less......

Chelsea simply don't need him and if he goes there then more fool him.

Either way i was happy with our squad before we were even linked with him, happier still with talks of Lemala and delighted last night with the performance of Andros. And that Capoeu - who knew? Sandro might struggle to get back in!

We are going to have a great season, Willian or not, Bale or not, its going to be fun!

It really needs to be said dozens of times before people realize that the number of alternatives that we can sign in one week is very limited.

Pjanic: Roma will not sell him on top of Lamela. They've already sold Osvaldo. They're fans would be furious beyond belief. His agent has already said he will not be moving anywhere this window.

Ljajic: Has made it clear he wants a move to Milan and completely controls his own destiny with a contract that is running down. There is no chance we sign him.

Mata, Ozil, Reus, Draxler: None of them will be sold, and certainly not to us, of all clubs.

Griezmann: Apparently has a massive release clause, but Sociedad are on the verge of qualifying for the Champions League and have no need to sell him on. There is no way they sell him before they've qualified late next week. It is highly unlikely that we could do a deal for him at this stage.

Pastore: Will be outrageously expensive, on big wages, and likely wouldn't leave a mega-club like PSG to move to a Europa League side. PSG have no need to sell and if they did, numerous teams like City, Arsenal, and United would line up with big offers.

Maybe there is a surprise or two out there for us. Maybe if we're real desperate late in the window, we'd ask Hamburg about whether they want to dump Van der Vaart to save on his wages? Or maybe AVB can convince Hulk to take a pay cut and come to us?

Either way, it's going to be a hectic 10 days.

He's the one that seems to fit the bill for me. Few up and comers in that central role but probably not ready for the league, like Paredes or Halilovic. Tom Carroll would provide something for us, no doubt in my mind. In terms of a left winger, think we could monitor Kacaniklic at Fulham. Ljajic would be ideal, but seemingly can't be done. There must be a contingency plan...

Halilovic to compete directly on the left with Chadli would be fine for me. Lennon, Lamela, Eriksen & Townsend for the other two positions.

Happy spur you better not be serious mate?!! Guys shit happens at the end of the day but for some biza reason am still really optimistic what the hell is wrong with me?? I just think were gonna pull something out of the bag either for willian or for another #10. I just have a really good feeling like I had with soldado when people doubted it and like paulinho. There is something brewing...... and not my bloody tea!!!

Hey mate, at first look of your screen: "LEVY UNLEASHES SANDRO ON PEREZ" - I thought that was his ..ck dangling up and down! Had to look again!

To be honest, its not that we have lost out on Willian that has me peeved, but the fact that we were exposed publicly in how did conduct this deal. This was confirmed by Mourinhos mocking and smug comment about not doing medicals before contract is signed i.e. we were amateurish in our attempts now we are playing with the big boys. Those on RAWK, Red Cafe, Arsenmania etc must be having a field day at our expense. Lessons learned I hope.

It's hard not to be peeved. To be fair though it was the player and his agent that leaked the medical. Mourinho is playing very unsavoury mind games with AVB and our squad. He's basically saying 'you think you're as big as us? Look we can sign your players with no trouble.' I think what he's missed is that he is beginning to sound like a parody of himself which brings memories of him supposedly losing the dressing room at madrid. AVB, DL and Baldini are no fools, they'll know how to play this and AVB's next press conference will be very interesting, he could sow the seeds of discontent in their squad with some carefully chosen words. There are 2 or 3 other players we have been linked with (and our original targets), with loads of potential that can play the number 10 and in a front three. At least we know Chelsea can't possibly want another CAM.

As for the ITK. Lamella sounds pretty close. That'd be one of the best signings of the transfer window! :)

I don't know about that. Bernard would potentially have cost £40m+

I can't help but think that the those who are most to blame for this colossal fubar are in fact the very people that spend so much time here.

We all demand ITK.....to know what's happening before anybody else. I only do it for the absurdity, but its no different that the people that do it serious.

And so a market like that produces suppliers. And those suppliers tipped SSN and then Chelsea off to this (as much as we want to blame Kia or Mourinho).

And he we are.

Levy always wants lock-down and this proves why.

Time to reevaluate. I feel that I have harmed the club pretty terribly here. Hell I am the one that posted 50% of the rumors that made it to twitter. And if I am hurting the club on the same level as Chelsea that makes me a **** and I really don't want to be a ****

I'm not sure I can even call myself a supporter right now. :(

How have you harmed the club? You haven't posted anything that Kia wouldn't have known. He would have known all the details of Willian's contract negs, medical and so on and he would have tipped Chelsea off exactly when he wanted to, phoned Anzhi exactly when he wanted to etc regardless of whether anything was posted on here or tweeted or on SSN.

Unless you're a secret intermediary between Willian and Kia you are in the clear and shouldn't be blaming yourself mate.

All you have done by posting here is given lots of Spurs fans a bit of insight into our club.

Chin up! (y)

He wasn't worth the money mate. He could well have been excellent, but there is just as big a possibility that he wouldn't have settled and just joined the list of Brazilians who never made it in England. The money really was insane.

At 15 million he would have been a risk, at what Shaktar paid the term risk wouldn't have covered it.

I refuse to believe that out of all the teams in the world there isn't one quality number 10 that is affordable and willing to play for us. We just have to find him.

Also need to find one number 10 that fits into AVB plans. He wants his number 10 to be hardworking as well to assist in the high pressing game. Yes as you have said, one that is affordable now and have potential for good sell on value (young players). We all know Enic is also looking for good potential earnings :)

Can people stop making nonsensical suggestions of people we should now go for? Reus, Ozil, Mata? Where are your brains at people?

There is common thread amongst the players we've signed this summer, Paulinho, Chadli, Soldado, Capoue, Lamela(?) - none of them would have been playing CL at their former clubs.

One of the main reasons why we've been able to sign them.

*Kicks door open* the ITK thread falls silent and the keyboard warriors all turn to see King Yid standing there with nothing but a bath towel wrapped round him. "Bring back Van der Vaart!" he screams, and promptly turns and leaves, slamming the door behin him; the only evidence of him ever being there a corner of the bath towel caught between the door and the frame.

Sorry, guys, but I've been offline much of the day. Where is the certainty Bale will leave coming from? Has there been ITK or announcement somewhere? I'm up to date on Willian but not Bale.
