Didn't most of vdvs goals come from Crouch knockdowns? And hasn't VDV before said crouch was great to play with for that reason? Doesn't make sense. File under 'bs'.

The idea that Harry is some bloke from the pub who somehow lucked into becoming a top football manager would be amusing if were not so corrosive. This really is a time when we need the fans to get behind the team and for the Board to support the manager. We do not want another fiasco like when fans were calling for the Board to replace the 'tactically naive" Martin Jol with the genius that was Juande Ramos.

Well said .

Two very highly rated board members ; John Alexander and Paul Barber left within months of each other and I'm concerned that Daniel Levy may now be surrounded by sycophants .

There seems to be a real danger of history repeating itself . Daniel Levy is on the paranoid side of conscious about his image in the media and Spurs seem to be very P.R. driven ; even by the standards of small-medium publicly listed companies .

As Jim Duggan on Topspurs says , Harry could discover the cure for cancer but that wouldn't be good enough for Spurs fans .

One thing I noticed about our manager............our players never come over to him for instructions when there is a break in play.

Hmm... that would be a good point, if it wasn't a massive lie...

It's almost as though the transfer window has just ended and some people aren't happy with our business, and make this rumour up to further their agendas by using the high profile of one of our best and most experienced players who happens to be injured?

Odd that.

You'd actually go to the trouble of filing it? I woulnd't go to the trouble of wiping my arse with it.

No, he hasn't. He has stated that Redknapp doesn't spend a lot of time talking over tactics. That's not the same thing.

vdv just stating the obvious?
Stating the obvious? I think I'm going to have an aneurism! There is no statement! This isn't fact. This is rumour. The only thing about it that's obvious is how fucking tenuous and spurious it is. Jesus wept!

Sorry, kcmei. I'm not having a pop at you, and I think there may well be tongue firmly lodged in a cheek, but some people are discussing this as if it's stonewall fact.

Let me ask this, those who would looooove to believe this bag of horse manure - has van der Vaart ever come across as anything but entirely professional? Everything about his conduct is that of a man of integrity. The only thing that mars that is if he gets a bit stroppy when he hasn't played well. So, is it likely that he would act in this fashion? Is it even within the realsm of possibility?

If you don't rate Harry, fine - that's your right. But, someone who's secure in their opinion doesn't need to rely on rumour and innuendo.

Here we go again, yet another Harry out thread disguised as something else. Boring.

Hence alluding, not stating.

Have you been taking nonsense pills Brett? Since the window closed you seem to have taken your anti-Harry crusade to another level entirely.

He may be alluding to tactical ineptitude in your mind, but that's got more to do with you filling in the blanks with your own slant.

VDV once said he enjoys the freedom he gets playing for Harry, so by your reckoning, maybe I'll state that he's clearly alluding to Harry's tactical genius.

See how easy it is to twist things to suit your own purposes.

I'm pretty sure if VDV was really unhappy playing for Harry, he would've been making his feelings known in public in order to hopefully attract the attention of other clubs. Instead all he's ever said is how at home he feels at the Lane. I'd imagine Harry Redknapp - being the Spurs manager and all that - has played no small part in this.
