Seems to be PR spin.....assuming Kane's camp have indicated he's absolutely no intention of staying....and Bayern will stump up the reported 100M that'll seal the deal.

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club did extremely well under H...but certainly didn't match his ambitions.

This is what his time at Spurs will be remembered as to the neutrals....didn't win a trophy at Spurs.

As fans...we have so many others

It’s wise from the club to offer the contract now. If he doesn’t sign now, he won’t next season regardless if we get a trophy or CL.

So if he isn’t 100% committed to the new project (which I can in a way understand, sometimes you need change), then it’s best we part ways now. If not, we then have a season with the media continually linking him everywhere and he’s head not with it, then watch him sign with Utd or City for nothing.

I was in the fully keep him and let him leave for free camp, believing that Levy and our scouts don’t have it in them to find a half decent replacement. But we can’t keep kicking the can down the road. He either signs or we part ways and find a striker that wants to 100% be here.

It also makes no sense for him to sign while we are still signing players. He needs to assess the window at the very least but I expect he needs to see how the season shapes up.

I genuinely hope its £400k+ a week offer. In the current market he's more than worth it, not least to us at a club.

Might need a clause or two in there but would be worth it to us.

Hopefully Ange can make a good impression on him and he is tempted to sign.

I think he has seen how this plays out over the last several seasons - a little ambition that ultimately falls short.

If he was interested in finishing his career with Spurs, he would sign a new deal. I think he is ready for a more ambitious team, whether that is now, or next summer.

He wanted out 2 years ago, and we have gone backward since then. Even if we steadied the ship under Ange, we are not at the level where Kane wants to be.

We may not have met his ambitions every season and not often in transfer windows, but let’s not pretend he didn’t have chances to win major titles here. He’s played in a Champions League final, league cup finals, title run ins and plenty of semi finals.

If he is 100% not going to sign a new deal with us my biggest worry is Kane decides he doesn’t want to go abroad. We’re then stuck in a situation where we either sell him to a PL club and get money now or we lose him to a PL next summer for nothing.

We know Kane was open to leaving previously, and we've got worse since then, so I can readily believe him wanting to leave now.

The one obstacle to that is the transfer fee. We would rightly want £100m to start talking. I highly doubt anyone will pay that this summer. You're talking about a handful of clubs who can afford that.

The smartest thing Kane can do is wait until next summer. Then the obstacle of the transfer fee will be gone, and he'll have his choice of top clubs if he wants to move, and on extra ridiculous wages too, given he'll be on a free.

And I'm sure we'll still have a contract on the table for him next summer, so he loses nothing other than perhaps one year of higher wages with us.

Well, he also loses a year of playing CL football. And, he risks an injury before getting a bumper contract.

I'd offer him a massive contract with a 45m release clause to non pl teams for every season we fail to qualify for CL.

At least then its shit, or semi bust.
Then is he actually committed to us? You can’t run a successful football club with your best players on low release clauses and could leave at the drop of a hat, just for not making a competition, especially in a league as competitive as the PL. That sounds like something Palace would do.

he either wants to be here, signs a new contract and we will have to start looking for his replacement in a few years time, or he leaves and try and replace him as best as we can now.

lol - with our luck he would sign that contract tomorrow, and Bayern would pay the release clause on Friday.

Thing is if he waits until January one of the big boys can offer him upwards of 5 or 600 a week plus a huge signing on fee. Ball is firmly in his court anyway. Hopefully he does stay longterm.

Says that levy is pissed at Bayern for tapping up Kane (ignore the irony of a club getting pissed off at such a thing) and will make Bayern pay extra because of it.

Is it just me who is getting the sense of him being sold this summer? Seems like there's more smoke now about it and now the leak about us offering him the huge contract. I genuinely thought he would stay and then leave on a free but now thinking he is being sold .
