Based on what?

What do you think are the options - from most likely to least likely?

At the bottom, it says this: "The player’s position is that every option remains open to him: leaving in the summer, staying for the season before going as a free agent and even extending his contract, although that is rated as the least likely."

This sounds a lot like "We tried, but Kane really wasn't interested, so we've had to take the best decision on behalf of the club..."

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with this approach from the club.
Mistakes were made in previous transfer windows...but this is nothing to do with that.

Feels like the only way he resigns is if we win him a trophy this season. Think that’s the gamble we’ll have to take; and it’s worth taking. With H in the team anything is possible.

My old man died 20 odd years ago. The fact I got to watch and celebrate us winning the FA cup and the uefa cup with him are 2 of the biggest and best memories of him I have. Football is more than just winning and losing, and one day they'll understand this.
The raw emotion of when we first qualified for the CL and going mental with my Dad is a fantastic memory. He is still here, but when he isn’t it will remain a treasured memory

If he does sign there's zero chance it happens now. That contract will still be waiting for him 12 months from now so if he's staying I see no reason why he'd put pen to paper until then.

Why would he sign an extension now, he hasn’t even met the manager yet except on Zoom? He has no incentive to do anything before January when he can see all his options laid out before him - it’s not like we’re going to withdraw the offer is it?

It’s a weird one because we actually seem like we have a good aligned plan are recruiting really well and have a manager who plays the kind of football Kane will absolutely love playing in, AND he can becoming full time captain now Hugo is moving on, so new £200k a week deal, go for Shearer’s record, keep your family all in the UK, link up with Maddison and no europe so full focus on the 2 domestic cups and getting back into the CL and less games in the legs for a season which will help prolong his career a bit… there is a lot to like for him resigning and staying just as much as there is for him to move to Bayern.

It’s just a Q of if he wants to guarantee himself some trophies right now and risk not breaking Shearers record then fine go to Bayern.

Yea surely he’ll remember what happened 2 summers ago with Nuno when Levy blocked his move to City, if he re-signs now that’s it he’s tied up again whereas if he doesn’t re sign then he keeps the power for another year and has free choice next summer.

The best night of my life was being at the lane with my late dad watching us beat Anderlecht, and watching us beat Ajax with my 2 sons is something that will live me for ever, that joy and sharing it with family you love so much is so special

For the reasons outlined I still think he will sign.

that individual honour guarantees legendary status which he wants

I realise i will be a lone voice and expect many negative ratings however

I think we should sell now to Bayern. For the following reasons

1. We need him out of the league, this is the best possible destination
2. I dont want him ruining the good vibes we have with our new manager / football
3. He will be negotiating his exit during the season and it will likely be announced during the season
4. The club are haggling over a 50m CB which is a priority position so we need the cash. This is a chance to revamp the squad

I love Kane and what he has done here. For me this stadium has been built on his back, there would be no repeat CL seasons without him but we have to look forward. Now is a good time and it feels to me more about saving face by not selling him now. Life will go on without him.

We can offer him as much money as we want but until we back that up by properly competing in the transfer market we're just hoping he signs on emotion rather than logic.

I think he is the best striker in the world. At worst he is top three. He has never won a single trophy and after all the promises of competing once this stadium was built we still can't or just simply won't compete .

You can say 'oh but it's spending smart not big' but that's nonsense, we all know it is. You have to do both. We still don't even have a director of football and are consulting someone we had to sack because he's a crook if you want to talk about smart . We haven't got the structure, the will to spend big or the wage budget to compete for anything beyond a season or two.

Now I'm very very positive about Ange. I think he is a breath of fresh air and he will go a long way in uniting the fanbase again but after this 20 odd year journey of ENIC we shouldn't be still saying we can't compete.

But that's by the by. If you're Kane ( take your spurs hat off) and you see this. And then you have the biggest club in Germany and one of the biggest in Europe courting you, if you only have a year left and then you know you can go anywhere and win the lot most likely. Be honest. If he is remotely logical about it he will be off like a shot.

Our only hope is we can pull on his heart strings enough to convince him to stay out of loyalty and emotion. It's happened before and I get the impression Ange is a very charming man.

Generally agree with all you've said. If an offer for 75-80M GBP came in from Bayern I'd sell.

If I was in charge, and by jove one day I will be, I’d offer him £400k a week. Obviously that’s a ridiculous amount of money - a 4 year contract works out at around £76M. But…. He’s among the top strikers in world football so there aren’t many other options. If we sold him we’d have to spend a large wad plus wages on a new striker that won’t be as good as him. Richy was £60M plus wages! So it works out cheaper to double Kane’s wages and give him a new 4 year contract.

He still might not sign but that would show him we’re putting our money where our mouth is. I think he’d find it difficult to turn that amount down if you add everything else into it (family, love of the club etc).

Bottom line though is if he desperately wants to win a trophy, he’ll go. If that happens hopefully he’ll go abroad and we’ll put a buyback clause/first refusal in there.

With all that said, I do genuinely believe we’ll be fine without him - It’s weird how things often work out in football. I just really don’t like the thought of Kane not being at Spurs.

Bayern can only buy him if a) Levy accepts an offer and b) he wants to go, you can't just decide we should sell him 😂

I'd offer him a massive contract with a 45m release clause to non pl teams for every season we fail to qualify for CL.

At least then its shit, or semi bust.
