i agree, but you will also get down to a grey area of what they can and cant investigate, Late challange? studs up? high foot ect?

Yes good point, of course. But even as it is there is a grey area between what would need an investigation and what wouldn't. It's obviously not a case of "on a football pitch anything is legal", so that grey area is still there whatever route we go down.

According to the ball boys twitter he was one game away from retirement ... assaulted during his testimonial! :D
He had "retired", but only ballboy'ed tonight because one of the regulars couldn't make it because of the snow.

its not, but im sure if they Police felt they need to or the FA want them to investigate something then they would.

It looked to me that the ball boy lost his footing when Hazard sort of half grabbed him and then landed on the ball, he certainly didn't jump on the ball to waste time all he did was let the ball run past him to gain a second or 2 advantage. Hazard was stupid to kick the boy although I imagine he thought he'd take a piece of the ball and the kid but ended up getting him in the ribs.

The kid may well be a little bit of a shit, a lot of us were when we were that age and if it was Spurs in that situation I'd want to waste a bit of time myself, but I doubt he'd ever think it'd end like this and for all his pre game tweets I'm sure he never meant to lie on the ball. As for Hazard I know exactly what would happen to me if I did the same thing tomorrow at work!

That ball boy is a complete wanker and deserved it. I say deserved it as if he even kicked him - he kicked the ball out from under him as he was clearly trolling him. To lie down on the ball preventing the player from getting the ball (doing the exact opposite of what he should be doing as a ballboy) Hazard should have every right to get the ball off of him. It's not as if he kicked the dick, he kicked the ball out from underneath him. I don't even think it warranted a yellow, nevermind a red. Talks of banning him is ridiculous in my eyes.

Is it me or does he look a little old to be a ball "boy"?

I always thought the cut off point for being a ball boy was about 11!

A grown man kicks a kid. Of course there's going to be an investigation. It isn't a case of a quick flick through a slow motion replay and 'on your way son and don't do it again', quite rightly they will investigate and if they feel an offence has been committed they'll take it further. If not it'll be dropped, but they have to go through the procedure.

If Hazard did this to Southampton's Luke Shaw who is 17 years old, the same age as the ball boy, would people be saying 'he kicked a kid'?

The ball boy had boasted on twitter prior to the game about how he was going to be behind the home goal during both halves and even hashtagged #timewasting. I think the kid knew exactly what he was doing.

Well maybe he's a villain - nevertheless, Hazard bowled into him before he'd even picked the ball up. He didn't have the chance to waste any time. I didn't notice if he was up to mischief beforehand but Benitez was getting worked up over the goal-keeper time-wasting when nothing out of the ordinary was going on.

This is far more about Chelsea being overzealous and frustrated than a slothful ball boy. Although it would be interesting to see them crucify a child in that inimitable style of theirs.
