Sorry but the 'kicking' wasn't malicious at all. When I heard Eden Hazard had kicked the ball boy I was amused and interested to see it and when I saw it I just did a sigh because the fucking ball boy falls on top of the ball before he's even touched and he writhes around in pain on the ground when no one touched him. Sorry but the ball boy is a spoiled brat and was never kicked or hurt though he probably deserves to be slapped around a bit.

To be fair, he is a ballboy at a football game and most weeks he sees the players writhing around in pain when they haven't been touched. They are the role models and I find it quite funny that it's bitten one of the players in the ass even though it wasn't malicious.

I don't think anyone has said it was a malicious kick?

Or did they?

Surprised if they did, as it's clear that Hazard was kicking the ball from underneath the young lad. Howerver, it does catch him in the ribs, not a lot, but he does.

If Hazard done that to say a keeper, he'd have recieved a red card for it, so the outcome would have been the same.

as for the ball boy / ball man, he shouldn't have jumped on the ball like that, he knew what he was doing, can I blame him for doing that, not at all really, his team about to make a cup final, few minutes left, small club against one of the biggest.

Hazard should have known better, but overall it's still pretty funny.

The FA have charged him and say that the current three match ban is insufficient.

Ridiculous.

should get a game or two extra ban for the kick.
Might not have been much, but you just cant do it, no matter how soft or hard the kick is

FA should also fine Swansea as well for the actions of one of their ball boys.

It was always going to happen. There was a crushing inevitablity about it.

Why do you say that? From the instant it happened on TV, there's been a mammoth effort to justify Hazard and blame the ball-lad.

In reality, he got unnecessarily physical with a 'civilian'. I don't understand what you thought was going to happen?

The logic is pretty clear too. If they let him get off lightly, with all the criticism of ground staff, ball lads and boys that's come out, it might have the effect of making them 'fair game' for players -ie. normalizing the relationship, players may think they can criticise or interact with them, they may become a facet of the game - which is not what anyone wants.

A harsher punishment makes that line more obvious. They're part of the ground, not the game; any issues will be dealt with by the referee or the FA. It's not dissimilar to a player insulting a fan who's been insulting him. You may think it's justified but ultimately it's completely counterproductive (and potentially dangerous and damaging). It's the kind of altercation you don't want happening, no matter how much provocation.

I'd add that if Hazard had simply left the idiotic little brat to carry out his childish antics, whilst gesturing towards the referee to highlight what was going on, the overgrown ball boy and Swansea would both be the ones in the firing line.

That's not me commenting on whether it's right or wrong btw. Couldn't really give a wotsit ether way. It's a high profile incident. They were going to get involved and make it about them somehow. They always do. I sometimes wonder if they give certain individuals in certain cases lenient or overly harsh bans simply to get themselves some more column inches.

In short - the FA like most other sporting bodies around the globe are full of fucking idiots simply getting their fill at the trough before moving on to something else.

I was there that night.

The young lad‘s family owned the fancy Queen’s Hotel in Swansea, so he’s not a rags to riches story, still done very well for himself though.
