Footballers really do live in their own little world, don't they? Does it even occur to him that most people have to pay off their mortgages over 25 years? Yes, it is a bit expensive isn't it?

I would certainly love Mr Woodgate to contribute to my £1400 mortgage every month, poor thing my heart bleeds for our frank Gallagher look a like, still class though.

if you actually saw the interview it was funny, woody having some good banter with the press. no matter how much money you have you don't want to be getting ripped off and house prices down here are a joke

£1400 quid a month - something the average person would have to really work and sacrifice to be able to afford.

If Woody is on £20K a week after tax, he'd be able to pay that off twice a day!

Still, to be fair to the bloke, they ARE a rip off and as always the Mail are trying to make a story out of absolutely nothing.

1400 a month mortgage here too!
He makes a point though, house prices are aweful in the south, compared to up north, no matter how rich you are!!

He is a great signing, awesome player, just hope he remains fit and doesn't pick up any injuries tonight!!

Lay off our boy. He may rich (because he's unbelievably talented at a sport that has become comically rich) but London prices are over-valued. Fair play to him for not wanting to be ripped off. Plus it was all a bit of banter I expect.

You'll always get someone gagging to have a pop. What he earns has got fuck all to do with it IMO, he says house prices in London are a joke and he ain't wrong. Because he earns a mint don't mean he should cough up and smile about it or make his opinion any less valid.

Yes he earns a lot and yes he can pay it easier and good luck to him for that.

If the rich let estate agents take the piss there's a knock on effect all the way down the chain. so the "he's got a cheek to complain" brigade should think before going on some half hearted communist rant. Honourable in theroy but stupid in practice.

Its amazing how some light hearted banter n to what one of our players says get taken out of context, i for one could not give a tos how much he earns, and yes house prices are over valued in the south east as compared to the north, calm down mate Communist rant i think not, have a bit of a laugh before a cup final, and having a joke yes.

Well said!

He may be able to afford to pay for any house outright in London in a day from loose change from his pocket, but that doesn't mean he cant protest about the prices. In a way he is championing our cause or plight!

If the media had reported that he had paid for some expensive house for cash without any thought about the price, I am sure there would be a lot of murmuring about being flash or not living in the real world or the likes

Jesus you clowns would need to take a chill pill, the lad was having a bit of banter and a laugh with the press,it really was VERY FUNNY ,someone even asked him if he was like Alan Partridge living in a Travelodge,It cracked me up.
If you get a chance to see this interview,Woodgate comes across as a really nice down to earth lad.
