Wonder if we’re looking at the young lad at Sheff Wed - Cadamarteri. Notched again today. Bet you could nick him for a few mil and keep him playing out on loan.

I hope Levy goes against type and can get a couple of deals done very early. Show his commitment to the manager. But, did we also hear from media and our own ITK that we have a small budget and incomings are again dependent on outgoings? If that’s still the case, it’s hard to see anything getting done early, which will be a real shame, as I feel we have a genuine shot at the top 4. But with a glut of injuries, suspensions, absentees on cup duties, we need depth in a few key areas. And we need it quick.

Madness considering we've only just sold Kane for 100m plus.

I'd be interested to know if Levy is going to have much of a hand in anything other than assigning a budget. You'd hope that he'd leave Munn et al to get on with their duties.

No excuse in terms of outgoings to sign a cb as we sold Sanchez right at the end of the last window

What even is a small budget these days though?
60m could be considered small but could still get us a couple of decent, or even very good players.

After some of our recent signings, especially in comparison with the likes of Chelsea, Man U and even Arsenal, I'm not really that bothered if we have a "small budget" really.

Not to mention that Levy always plays the skint card.

To be fair we do get this said a lot prior to windows but end up spending a bit.

I do wonder sometimes if this gets put out to lower expectations, so that when we do spend 60m on Richarlison or 40m on Porro, we are more surprised.

Not expecting big money signings, and we shouldn't but we if we have targetted the right player and the selling club want 30m, we shouldn't be taking the piss

Where have you heard this about a small budget? I think the main reason, if that's the case, we need outgoings first is because Levy is very strict with the salary budget. I could be wrong though.

"Funds for January will be Limited we hope to get a couple in but they won't be big money purchases, plus any sales of course"

"There is some money set aside for the new team, but they haven't been brought in to scout players everyone already knows about, we are back to player trading to generate transfer funds"

From a very good source.

I said this before but where the **** is our money going if this is true!

Given the match day revenue, the Kane funds were most upfront, a lot of incomings in the summer were "creative accounting"

If it's all gone on paying off DL's poor manager recruitments and their staff then he should vibe fronting that from his own wallet.

Well hopefully it’s not 100% on the ball. As the notion that we have limited funds in January doesn’t pass the straight face test. Simple math and logic dictates otherwise. If funds are being limited ‘cos Levy wants it so, that’s a different story.

Worth bearing in mind we've posted losses of £130 million over the last two seasons so we must be close to infringing FFP.
I assumed we'd bank the Kane money to get us off the hook, then look to spend it in the Summer when the next financial period starts.

I thought there were reports that we could spend about £400mill before we hit FFP?
