has to be BBC for loads of reasons

Main ones

1 - I like Gary Lineker
2 - I hate Adrian Chiles
3 - No adverts

BBC are shit for commentary and both are shit for analysis and ITV have Keane, the only person out of the regular pundits who doesn't seem to be up his arse and give bullshit analysis like england played well. Funny how Shearer said we where playing well in the group stages and today wrote a article about england being incredibly shit

Also anyone who thinks the bbc commentary isn't shit just read the Croatia vs Spain thread and see how many things the commentator got wrong

I like Keane a lot but it still doesn't make up for the adverts

This, basically.

Guy Mowbray is streets ahead of all ITV's utterly dreadful commentators. As much of a cad as Lawrenson may be, he's also streets ahead of any of ITV's totally shit and irritating summarisers. Hansen's annoying, yes. Shearer's a twat at the best of times. At least ITV will probably have Martinez who is their only good pundit.

Plus there's no ads. Which means not having to mute it every time that fucking Ladbrokes ad comes on.

BBC has 5.1 audio, ITV doesn't know what that is.

To me ITV's HD picture was a little bit sharper than the BBC and I also liked that their scoreboard was optimized for HD, too bad the other stuff stinks.

It's really pathetic that they still don't broadcast football in HD and 5.1, unacceptable.

If the BBC could get Roy Keane onto their pundit panel that would tie it all up nicely. Shearer and Dixon are just so dullllllllllll. Quite like Hanson to be honest, despite his sickening wages. Lineker looking to get out of the Beeb to move to BT Vision I read yesterday. Don't go Gary.

Watched RTÉ for the analysis, BBC in the first half and ITV in the second half. I usually watch BBC due to it's lack of ads, but Shearer is a useless pundit and Lawro & Mowbray were too busy trying to be funny they forgot they were commentating on a football match. It was like they were auditioning for Live at the Apollo.

Also, BBC will always do a better montage than ITV.
Didn't even think about watching ITV.
I thought the BBC's closing montage was poor with an odd choice of song, but had it been the tweenies it would still be better tahn Adrian "must die when he comes to the Lane for Europa" Chiles.

The person or persons who have somewhere down the line told Mark Lawrenson he's funny (no not just to look at) need to be shot, to avoid further crimes against humanity.

I watched it on the BBC but if I'd known it was on ITV as well I would have turned over. Lawrenson is just the worst commentator ever. Does he ever say anything positive? Does anyone like the bloke?

I watched the match on ITVHD (freeview) and turned over at HT to BBCHD.
Thus avoiding any of Mr Humphries Commentary. If Carry on ever makes a comeback theres a ready made scprit writer in Mark The Walrus Lawrenson...
