In our accounts, the market value of the playing squad is to put it simple almost not shown (I shan't bother to explain why in this thread). But Tottenham's worst bad case scenario is selling Harry Kane, and all liabilities would be taken care of for 1-2 years. Obviously from an accounting perspective I'm not an advocate for selling assets off as financial tactics, because it's never a long term solution. But if worst comes to worst, Tottenham would survive. Of course the big issue is that our the market value of our squad was many times higher 2 years ago. There was a time when we could have sold 5 players and be completely debt free – in a hypothetical scenario. Today we can only really sell Kane as a way to make a difference financially – and that wouldn't do much more than to buy us time and tie us over. That is a drastic change in circumstances. But still, Tottenham would survive a short term crisis.
